Has anyone tried Popkeymon's AutoHotKey script to make a numpad into a full one-handed keyboard? I have, and it's tha shizz. I'll put the link here later when I'm not on my phone.

Apparently, the new ones which don't have it are not doubleshots. These ones have them , hence they should be of the old version and thus probably have it.

Edit: That is how I understand the text under the image in the wikilink that was posted above.

the price tells you these are not mode 4 number pads. hence not fully hardware programmable.

just the four switches at the top are hardware programmable.

u can program the whole thing with autohotkey if you want, but it wont carry onto another computer like how a mode 4 numberpad would.

doubleshots mean nothing.

and the fact they are rare.

Not a bad deal. Definitely my favorite numpad in the collection. Easy to mod too since they're PCB mount.

That is not a very convincing argument. They are old stocks and getting rid of old stocks explains the low prices. Plus the boards are in Vietnam.

Sure thing would be to ask nntnam to press Numlock + 4 + Enter at the same time (holding down the Numlock key and then 4 key) and then see if LED blinks when you press Numlock + any key.

How do we know if it is not mode 4 keypad for sure?
You would have to either test it or open it up to 100% find out :)

But it is a PS/2 input so the chances of that is even lower, while this is not the newest one as the newest models has laser keycaps, it is much more likely to see a Mode4 one with a DIN5 input instead.

Like I said though, the only way to FOR SURE know is to open it up or test it one or the other :)

We will see once we get them, but I feel they are indeed mode 4. Searching google and KBDMania gave me some hints that they are indeed mode 4 keypads.

Some clues they are mode 4:
1. mode 1 keypad draws 145mA while mode 4 draws 20mA.
2. G80-3700HQU are mode 1 while G80-3700LQAU or G80-3700HQAU are mode 4

Those clues may not be 100% correct, but it seems to work in the cases I observed so far.

Here is how you can check whether it is mode 4:
Press and hold down Numlock
Press and hold down 4
Press Enter while holding down Numlock and 4

Now you are in mode 4 (if your keypad supports it)

Press and hold down Numlock
Press say 1 while holding down Numlock
See if Numlock LED blinks.

If the LED blinks the key 1 is programmable and hence the keypad supports mode4.

It seems you can also tell from the shape of the cable too. There is rubber block on mode4 pad's cable and there is none on mode 1 pad.

Great! They are indeed mode 4! Yay!

The programming also works on PS/2 to USB converter. You just need PS2 keyboard to set the macro. Once set, the macro remains on the board even if you unplug it.

Oh, by the way the mode stays changed unplugged too. So, nntnam you might want to put the key pad back to mode 1, so that the person who got the board is not confused to think it is broken.

Send me an invoice since you already have my paypal email from my POS board part-out (batch 1) leftover sale. Or just tell me how much to pay to your paypal email as I have found that in my PMs.

If these truly are mode 4, then when I mod it to USB I will have to keep the circuitry intact to be able to switch back and forth just for fun. I would just have to remember to NOT plug both the USB and PS/2 in at the same time...

Nice vid! Yours seems to be two tone DS. Were there color variations? I would love to get two tone DS!

One thing to note by the way:
Macros with multiple key strokes do not work very well with cheap PS/2 to USB converters. Blue cubes worked so far without issues and of course macros should work perfectly with PS/2 connection.

@nntam: if you are able to provide the another G80-3700 who isn't the same model (for example, if the keys are not DS, I don't care) at a similar or lower price, I'll take one of this if I can't get those models :(.

@solanim, thanks for the video.

@everybody, the good (or bad) news is, in the second batch, I get 3 keypad which have two tone color scheme (G80-3700HQAUS), and 10 keypads has one tone color scheme (G80-3700HQAUS-0 ) like in the 1st batch . I don't know if there is any of you want this. So if you (in both the 1st list and waiting list), want a two tone keypad, please leave your comment below this post. Thanks.

About the second batch (13 keypads). There are some keypads which don't have good boxes, but I can sure that they are NIB, never used. Hope you guys won't mind the boxes' condition.

I do not care about the box condition at all.

As long as the numpad doesn't break or get scratchs during the shipping.
