It is sadly a hard to find board nowadays. It is no longer in production.

I am trying to get my hands on one of these since a while now through a Japanese friend. If I manage to get one I will most likely replace the switches with blue MX though. Browns are not for me.

You'd think if they sold these to gamers, they'd sell.

Gamers wouldn't buy it.  It doesn't have an LCD screen and it's not backlit.  Gamers NEED backlit keys cause they play in the dark.  Those WASD keys can be hard to find without backlighting.

Well now, that's just sterotyping, isn't it?

I don't like playing my video games in the dark, and I don't want a backlit keyboard. I would buy one of these, though...if I had the money and could find one...it would make a nice replacement for an Apple Aluminum keyboard.

With the border around it, it looks suspiciously like a Steelseries 7G... Except cooler of course xD

It was a joke based on threads in other forums...

I'm a gamer, I don't use the computer in the dark, and I don't care about backlit keys either.

That's what made me think it could sell well to gamers.

Ah, but the Diatec online store seems to have them in stock.
http://www.diatec.co.jp/shop/list.php?cate_c=1&subcate_sq=2

I don't think that they sell well at that price (25,000 yen) though - they're more expensive than Realforce or HHKB pro.
And real gamers wouldn't interested in them either because, simply, they don't seem to be NKRO boards.

It would be pretty sweet if they sold the aluminum case seperately.  I would buy one in a heartbeat.  I love the industrial look of the aluminum.  I also like the how the wrist rest is built in.

Nearly the same thoughts. A third party could make this sort of case.  Steel would be a bit cheaper than aluminum, but brushed aluminum looks better than brushed stainless steel.

Alumnium stays cleaner, too.  Stainless steel has a bad tendency to show fingerprints unless its coated.  Ask parents with little kids and stainless steel appliances.

hmm i think i'd prefer to supply my own wrist rest, but other than that i'd like a keyboard with a metal case.

"Aluminum" was the original name proposed by Davy.

The journal that published his findings suggested that "Aluminium" would sound more posh, and convinced him to go with that.

I'm afraid the joke is on you lot.

Plus, if they keep it up, they'll be wearing "platinium" jewelry as well.
