It's useful, in my opinion to demonstrate that the typical overclock.net user rocks the logitech and saitek keyboards quite often. :P

Anyone notice how you can get ghosting over USB on NKRO boards? Try this:

(Left) Control, alt, and shift. Try some 4-6 key combos with Z, X, A, S, Q, W etc. You will notice some strange key behavior -- particularly ghosting. And I mean the correct use of the term. Keys you did not press will be pressed. Of course, the same keyboard using PS/2 behaves normally, with absolutely no ghosting.

I think I read about this issue a while ago, but I haven't actually been able to fully test the issue myself until recently.

On my Realforce 87U I only appear to get it on the 6th key pressed down.  For example, pressing CTRL-zasxd is fine.  As soon as I press something else I get that letter and 1 to 3 ghosted letters. CTRL-zasxdc gives me CTRL-zasxdcw.

At that point I kinda lost interest.  I only have 5 fingers on my left hand you see......

Ouch.  Does this happen with cherry blue filco with NKRO over USB?

Ghosting on the topre.  While this has no relevance in real world usage, it sucks to see this exists.

Yeah. That's the board I used when I tried it. Judging by the fact that this doesn't happen over PS/2 and that I don't think anyone's come forward with a USB rollover board that doesn't have this issue, I'm thinking it's a USB issue.

But as Ripster said, this really is not that big of an issue. I don't think I've ever needed to press all modifiers plus six keys at the same time.

I mentioned the problem here. I get the same problem on my Realforce 87u, HHKB Pro and DAS III.

It's as if USB has a "memory effect" problem. If you start playing with different keys the original problem clears itself, but if you repeat the test it happens again consistently.

Oh yes it is! It's huge. For the simple reason that it proves sloppy programming, and THAT offends me!

I like that most of them are getting widely varying results.  I suspect that many are not holding down both shift keys, don't know how to type, don't know how to spell, are drunk, are REALLY drunk, stoned, or are actually gaming the stupid test to appear leet.

In general; I notice the site does provide some inaccurate information to certain products or should I say people aren't providing proper information.

I'm no expert on computer equipment. But often times I see people post like on monitor section or the sound card section. And just out right buy said item by word of mouth and not proper research. Or just remain ignorant on newer technologies, maybe it's just segregated to a few sections of that site. But there really needs to be an overhaul of the information provided.

I'm not saying other electronic equipment sites are perfect but at least you see one or a few people come in who know what they are talking about, provide proper information.

THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS O1900312120d3d0001er the lazy dog

Model F through a Blue Cube. The fact that both shifts and V will print 1900312120d3d0001 followed by releasing the shifts (probably reseting the keyboard) is probably to do with the adapter. Rather interesting effect... thanks OCN!

EDIT: Confirmed, the Belkin doesn't show that same effect. Scratch another point for the Belkin being the finest USB adapter on the market.

I am absolutely sure this is completely inconsequential but I found it impressvie that I could type that with both shifts and spacebar held down.

Why did I find that impressive, well... I figure my computer would have either exploded or would have emitted a beam of light with choir music where I could have indulged in a brief glimps of heaven.

Hey, I would like to apologize on behalf of OCN for GTFOs behavior, but come on, calling us idiots because we don't really know much about keyboards is about as nice as us calling you guys and gals idiots simply because you (might) not have any idea of how IDE and SATA work.

None of us actually use computers. it's actually a keyboard fetish forum, hence so many posts about ****ing topre's.

TE UIC RWN  JUS VER TE LAY DG

Dell SK-3205.

(On a serious note, it fails on ASW in a REAL NKRO test. I was hoping it would pass the double-shift test with flying colors, though.)

Good work! We know now that it isn't perfect!

Well, the SGI AT-101 causes the thing to **** itself in the most undignified way possible. Here's another failure, albeit one that will never be encountered during regular use.

What's intresting was that it seems only to be the two shifts and V that causes it.

Of course, I just "beat" that score.

BlackBerry Bold 9700. When both shifts are held, NOTHING gets through.

That would break a rather elementary law of Physics.  Everything falls at the same rate.

But the momentum would keep it going for much longer than a normal car once you reach the end of the hill though.

Either way it was meant to be a dumb joke lol

I think the real troll is the Logitech G11 Product Manager.

He has been planting this test ALL OVER THE INTERNET in an attempt to boost sales.  If I followed that thread that's what I would buy.

I don't think anyone is following the thread, seeing as no one even tried to argue with you on your 5 trollish posts.

You would expect at least a few people to respond over there.  Maybe there's a secret hidden code you need to embed in a post to get ocn members to read it.
