I've always thought the BlackWidow was ugly, but the redesign makes it look hideous. Always a shame that it's still not using Browns.

Razer is milking PRETTY hard...

I mean...Dragon Age is an RPG...  that u can even make pauses to make decisions during the combat...

Promoting their mech keyboard with DA2 is just lame

I don't understand why they're using such a hideous font. Is it some kind of 'cool' only hipsters can appreciate?

The font is designed for 13 year old CS gamers and anyone who thinks "killer" is a clever nickname.

At least it has a red backlight, so there's something special about the keyboard.

Waiting for a Tenkeyless Leopold with MX Browns!

Pshhh when has razer ever done the basics?

They sell on looks and booth babes :P  which are definitely above the competition admittedly...

I like red glowy better than blue, and hopefully it's not as glossy. yea, I bought a BW :(, I needed a MX Blue and it was cheaper than the Filcos they just got in. I already have the brown Filco anyways.

I like the way my Filco looks way more the BW but I got tiny Asian hands and the BW actually fits me better. ahah :(

Have they done other colors than Blue, Red and green?

Still, they are quite good at making shiny things, even if they aren't very good...

That's weird, because I have a razer blackwidow and a filco and the BW has way larger keys then the filco.  If anything the filco is better suited for small asian hands :)

Let's be real.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but, most people would consider the razer blackwidow to be a beautiful looking keyboard and much "cooler looking" then much plainer looking mechanical keyboards. You can call razer products a lot of things, but the last thing you can call the BW is ugly.

Hmmmm.....maybe

I kinda doubt it though.  I think you may be reacting to the keys being more Cherry Corp profile than Filco profile.

Yeah actually I just compared the two and they're really similar in size afterall.  The BW keys might be a little thicker though.  The font kinda creates an optical illusion, making it seem like the keycaps are bigger when really they're about the same.

Can't help but call that thing ugly. Next to the Déck it's one of the least attractive keyboards out there, especially in the mechanical realm.

Of course, I find what most people do to their Filcos to drastically decrease their beauty. They come so elegant and clean looking and people toss red and purple keys all over them, ruining the simplicity. Just me though, people can do whatever they want to their boards. :)

That said, the default BW is OKAY looking and I wouldn't throw up looking at it. Just a little cheesy. The DA2 one is gaudy as all get out and needs to be put out of its misery. :(

oh no! I got tricked by an optical illusion! :embarassed: oh well

I have a hard time hating the BW per se. Glowy is glowy, macro keys are macro keys, and media keys are media keys.

Filcos do have (sort of) a classy quasi-professional understated kind of allure to them I supppose. BW obviously doesn't have that.

Take a Honda Civic and put some neons, stickers, a gigantic wing, a body kit and a ridiculous exhaust on it.

I look at cars like that and Razer products in the same light.

Should have been done for Diablo 3, and should of had cherry reds to match the red backlighting. Razer products really suck though because of the fact that they're just all built very cheap.

chobo can I ask what mousepad you have in that picture? looks like the qck iirc. I had a dual sided razer pad (exactmat or something) and I can't seem to find a dual sided pad I like the look of  now so I'm sort of open to anything and that's really sleek looking.

just ordered a deathadder in black and along with a new pad (and either a filco or leo blue, whichever comes first, to replace my blackwidow to keep this on topic :D) it might take my setup a few steps away from 'hardcore gamer "cool"' to sleek and stylish :P (edit - the taste change is due to this forum, of course)

Steelseries Icemat-2, glass mousepad; you can tell by the edges producing a faint glow to them because they're worn down to avoid skin issues and they reflect light from that area. And also the icemat sits a little bit higher due to the thickness and feet plus the separation of height from the feet and the desk looks like it's almost floating, so another way to tell.
