This is our friend Danno: http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=16598

I expect the second mini and the M13 to show up soon after this one ends.

If I had known the space saving model M was worth so much I would have snagged one when I had a chance a few years back. I didn't grab it because I personally like and use the 10-key section on keyboards a lot.

Taobao has had multiple mini's listed, but so far none have actually been available.  Cheap? Yes. Available? No.

Right. I just picked up one of these at a ham fest today and am astounded at the price they sell for. I have been wanting another model M and saw this mini one which I had never seen before so I asked the guy how much. He said $3 and I payed it. Get home and look it up and now I need to figure out how to scrape my jaw off the floor.

No more, but now I need to decide if I keep it or not since I have a regular M in the closet. Now that I have two M's though I can tell you guys to check out Ham Fests, I haven't seen one go for more than $10. We picked up a boxed one for that much for my mother last year.

I have six of them...  All have been opened, looked at for about 10 seconds, put back in box, and never touched since.  They're all from comptekw2k and are all around the same years.  Grey label.

The best thing about them is opening and giving a sniff.  They smell so new and lovely.

I have something like 70 keyboards.  I am moving my office to the house and the wife isn't too happy about storing them all.  I just put a couple other mechs up on ebay- gotta get my collection more manageable!

When I first became a member here, I went crazy, buying everything in sight :)  I do not regret a single Model M Space saving purchase, though.  They're the king of keyboards!

From the IBM Wiki.

The 87-key is the full-sized one.  The 75-key is the mini.

@Sam: Look, it's the twelvekeyless terminal board! IBM's way of cost saving - use the same case. Hmmm, I wonder if that board can somehow be modded to include a touchpad on the right.

First step would be to just get the keyboard to work properly.  As it is, it's not usable with a modern PC.  If you were to make your own USB controller, then add in a USB hub and an off-the-shelf USB touchpad connected to the USB hub you'd be in business.  That is provided there's enough physical space there to mount the touchpad.  I've got one of those keyboards, but haven't opened it up to have a look.

Hey, I demand a resale.  You offered this in the Great Finds section, not in the classifieds, and I missed it till it was too late.  Just for that, you should be required to put one more for sale in the classifieds.
