Is the 55g more rare or just more desirable than the variable?

10th Anniversary isn't sold by EK anymore, so they are harder to acquire. And 55g just gives you an evenly weighted key feel across the board.

How does a Realforce compare to the new Leopold FC700R as far as typing and PBT key feel? I'm probably thinking MX Reds.

A 55g Topre switch is definitely heavier than an MX Red. It also has a tactile bump from the rubber collapsing.

i had both a 10ae 55g and a red fc700r at one point. the fc700r reds is extremely nice, but the 10ae 55g is on another level entirely.

This is about 2 weeks too soon.  I won't know until the Chicago get-together if I will like 55g RF...

Think about it this way, although, for some reason this is still available, you should easily be able to get your money back should you not like it. But you will LOVE it.

Never used Topre, but it seems priced to where I can break even if I decide to unload it in 1-2 months. Now I'm just trying to force the economist in me to submission..

If you get it, use it as your main board for at LEAST a week before making any decisions.
