Steelseries 6gv2 spacebar issue
« on: Sun, 05 August 2012, 18:23:04 »
Hello, I recently bought a steelseries 6gv2 and I noticed quite quickly that the spacebar(and also the enter key) felt extremely slow and they completely disturbed the nice flow when typing. Have to use 3x or more the force to use the spacebar and enter key compared to all other keys. So what I'm wondering is if there is anyway to fix the this or are the keycaps broken and I have to contact steelseries to get new keycaps? Or is it even how the 6gv2 is designed? Help very much appreciated!

They use Cherry style stabilizers which is why you feel the difference.

If you want something a bit more uniform try costar style (Filco.)

You should return it anyway.  My keycaps were becoming Blank/Otaku after 48 hours and I have very clean hands.

Is there anyway to modify the stabilizers so that they get a similar feel to the other keys? Don't mind blank keycaps at all, would infact rather have blank keycaps. As for getting a filco, I'm on a pretty small budget(one of the reasons I decided to go for the 6gv2 in the first place). But if there is anything around with the same price as a 6gv2 with proper spacebar/enter keys that would be very interesting.
