A good gaming keyboard

I seem to be in need of a new keyboard - since this current one by HP seems to have a louder spacebar than I remember from even weeks ago among other things. It also is still a PS/2 keyboard and not a USB.

Since I want a new computer (eventually) I might as well get a new keyboard, what I would like:

- MEDIA keys above all else except one thing:
- USB connection
- Would probably prefer wired but I may be fine with wireless
- @ MOST ~$80 range (would prefer cheaper)
- If wireless a long battery life and easily rechargeable.
- Don't care if keyboard allows for macro's

Grab a CMStorm Rapid. Checks all your requirements and it's a great board for your first mechanical. Some may argue that blues aren't good for gaming, and these are available in other switch for more money if you would rather go for linear.

I don't know of any that would be wireless. But then again, I generally think a wireless keyboard, especially mechanical, is pointless. It still just sits on your desk.

The only situation in which using a wireless keyboard makes sense is when you're using it from across the room, like with an HTPC.

definitely forget wireless. Unless your USB ports are full, go with a cable as you'll have less problems with battery and random disconnects.

Go for something with Cherry MX black switches. The Steelseries 6Gv2 has media keys which is hard to find in most mechanical keyboards and is relatively cheap. The build quality isn't that bad, at least from what I heard. However, there's quite a few better keyboards, but you can use this keyboard as a gateway to get into the mechanical keyboard world.

Forget about wireless. It brings in more problems than solutions.
