Don't forget about the silent version.
Now you must also try the HHKB and the Type-S

Can you confirm two things on the Silent?

1) I've heard that it feels mushier?
2) I've also heard rumors that it slightly decreases stroke length.

I switched from a HHKB Pro 2 w/ 45g switches to a variable Realforce 87U "Silent" keyboard.

The 35g keys on the realforce feel mushy, a lot like cherry reds. The 45g keys on the realforce have a smoother stroke / feel less crisp than the HHKB Pro 2. It bottoms out soft and quietly compared to the HHKB Pro 2; when it bottoms out it sort of "gives" which might explain why it feels like there's a decrease in stroke length, but it's nothing in comparison to how o-rings feels on a cherry board.

If you are interested in trying one I have one for sale that I purchased from JPM804 two months ago.

Hope this helps!

I have a 23U keypad (not silent) and 87USW (silent) the keys feel almost identical maybe the silent is a tiny bit mushier however i like both the keypad and the keyboard equally. stroke length appears to be the same.

I love my Ducky Shine at home, and managed to convince my boss to buy me one for work too.

Now I can enjoy shiny clicky goodness everywhere :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
