Post Count?
« on: Tue, 14 August 2012, 16:20:57 »
Is there a restriction on some of the boards here that require a certain amount of posts? I Don't have the option to start a Thread in several of the boards(IE Classified & Group buy).

That's correct.  I think you need at least 50-100 to post in Classifieds.  And Group buys probably even more...

Can anyone confirm this?

I also feel having the post count limit on classifieds restricts who can sell. I've been member since march and have less than 40post. I lurk the site all day long. Just seems off I guess that classifieds is limited at 50. . .

It was one of the new things the administrators implemented post GH getting hacked, and being rebuilt on SMF.  Check out the feedback forum for some additional information on post counts.

Edit:  Looks like it's 60 posts.  Source:  http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=33429.msg629024#msg629024

Any credibility helps.  These are personal transactions so if you can prove to your buyer that you're good, then I think you'll be fine

I wish there was a way to make exceptions for those already registered before the hack job. I really hate to leave fluff replies just so I can post a realforce that I'd purchased here two months ago.

I agree 100% maybe set it to if they have been a member for X days or 60 posts would resolve it... I've started adding my input instead of just reading everything... So i guess its kinda good for the community if we post more. Just as long as we don't turn in to Ripster.

Or microsoft windows.  http://geekhack.org/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;sa=topics;u=1912

The further down you read, the worse it becomes. I'm surprised they chose to ban Ripster over him... at least Ripster didn't start threads about porta potties and what keyboards smell like.

I will give MW this one though, I very much enjoyed this thread: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=14658.150
