FSOT: IBM Model M, Cherry POS boards
« on: Mon, 20 August 2012, 18:33:16 »
Edited with pricing because I don't know what they're worth, but it seems that those who've PM'd are looking for me to set prices.  If you've already PM'd me you have priority and I'll be responding to you this evening.

For sale for best offer or tempting trade, 1x IBM/Lexmark Model M 82G2383, nothing wrong with it, brand new cord (old one was chewed by cats) selling because I have one with the cooler multi-colored keycaps in similar condition.  Clean and working perfectly, can throw in a Belkin PS/2 to USB adapter if you want.  (no longer available, my roommate took it for a backup board.  If you really really want it he's probably not attached to it though.)

Also have two Cherry G80-8200 LPBUS, both clean and nice, one with clears only cosmetically cleaned but working well, the other was used as my switch tester and has lubed browns.  Can throw in adapter for either of those if you like as well.  $40 each + shipping?  Note: in the pics the browns one is missing two of the clear relegendable caps, I didn't notice until I'd already uploaded the pics.  I found them in the bottom of the box that I was storing the boards in and they are now on the board.

Make offer on anything, will take pics if you PM me with email address.  I just need to get rid of stuff that I am not using.

Sale pending on board with clearsClears sold!  Browns still available.

Would gladly trade all for a 104 key set of nice dye sub PBTs for Cherry MX.  Or what have you?

Edit:  (removed)

Edit2: I also have at least one set of well loved black doubleshots on a Cherry POS board if that helps sweeten a deal.  I do have the two "missing" keys, I stole the stems out of the board to make a space bar gluing jig, I'm running out of junk stems so had to go into this one.  I will find some if you really want this board to type on, but why?

I also have a G81 space saver board, non-POS, same color/keys.  I stole the keys off of it but if you want it, I will find the unique space saver keys as I know I saved them (unless I sold them?)  Used from brand new for about 9 mos. @ work before getting annoyed and finding GH because really, it sucked so badly to type on.

Edit3: also available, SGI Granite for an Onyx, winkeyless, NOT PS/2.  Dampened Alps, nice but dirty freshly denture-tabbed keycaps, a little yellowing on the case and space bar.  Bought it by mistake.  $20 + shipping?  Would be great if you are an Alps fan and don't mind swapping switches, or need a nice set of standard winkeyless keycaps.  Do not have PS/2 cable.  (did not come with one, I found one at Goodwill and that's when I realized that I'd messed up.  I want to keep the cable though, and it's not a SGI part, it's off a Sony VAIO.)

Edit4: Dell AT101W, yellow and frictiony, free with any purchase - maybe you want it and the SGI board to make a nice feeling Alps board?  Move the switches over from the SGI to the Dell, paint the Dell case something awesome, and use the SGI caps, and you'd have a nice board save for the bottom row.  I'm too lazy to do it though.

thanks for looking!

Pictures required. Always. :)
I had a sig once but it's gone. It used to display an icon of a Kinesis. Just imagine that.

USPS flat rate box is about $60, probably not worth it.  This is a US layout board not UK, save for the ISO enter (why....?) don't mean to discourage you but I bet that for that money your friend could likely find something more suitable closer (maybe a UK layout G80-3000 or something?)  If he is still interested let me know but I may have US buyers lined up and it would be a far better deal for them.

Added pics.  Please give me money so I can just go buy more stuff.  All boards are/were working (MY board needs two sliders and springs to be functional, but who's going to buy that thing to use it?) save for the SGI board which I can't test.

PM'd on Monday but maybe you did not get it ...

I am looking for white text on black doubleshots.  I don't need the whole keyboard - that would save me shipping cost and you can continue to cannibalize it :-)

I know a lot of time has passed since you posted your add. I just want to know if you still have the silicon graphics and the dell keyboards. Cheers.
