I'm trying to learn the Fn layer, so I can actually get work done on the Poker.  Making me realize how much I use the arrow keys and delete when I'm writing automation scripts.

Yes! As long as I agree with your choice of text editor, that is...  :D

I use filco majestouch-2 w/ blue and dampening switches at home. I'm a student, so I spend MUCH more time coding on home computer for projects. (Also, I use a macbook pro about the same amount as I do my desktop). So I guess I see scissor switches / blues about the same.

It wasn't too bad... to be honest, the most useful ones for coding are the f5 / f11 / f12 xD.

and of course ctrl-alt-fn-(z or /) and I almost ALWAYS keep the arrow keys turned on when doing ANYTHING on the poker.

Using notepad++ right now to make some mock Oracle SQL since I know very little about Oracle SQL. Basically copying and editing some prior code and showing it to someone who understands SQL much better than me before I drop it in the DB.

Notepad++ is the best text editor on Windows IMHO.  On Unix/Linux if you aren't using Vim you're dead to me :p

Because Notepad++ is better.  I've long been conflicted about that very point.  When it comes right down to it, though, Vim just feel out of place on that platform.  Emacs does a little better, but homey don't play that.

I used my Race with reds at work for a while (until the LEDs got kinda flakey), and spend most of my day writing scripts and poking at stuff on a terminal.

I could probably do without the arrows, since I'm pretty much always in vim or using vi-mode in the shell. But, I think the ~/esc issue would bother me more.  I use backticks a lot in m4, '~' interactively, and I beat the fool out of my esc key.

That's what broke me today, salmo.  The esc/tilde battle.  I had to switch back to Leo TKL to get through the last half of the day.

I'm going to retire it to my house; at least until I get used to the function layer or I get a AHK config setup.
