Hey all! Thought I'd make an update as things have been in the dark for a little while.

Just know, this hasn't been abandoned. I've had to set it on hold as time and finances have been slim pickings for me, so unfortunately for now, it's on hold.

On the brighter side of things, should this be held off until after the Cherry Replica font comes out, we could totally use it for that. Not saying that it will for sure, but as of right now I can't exactly afford the time and funds needed.

You're an awesome community so I hope you all can understand.


Hey there folks!

Welcome to the OCKC brainstorming/interest check thread!

As of now, this topic is locked. If you're interested in this set, have a read through to see if any of your questions will be answered. This set is definitly going up as a GB, so don't get the wrong impression! Expect to see the GB thread up within a few weeks.



The set will be a standard ANSI 86 key layout Charcoal/Orange doubleshot keyset, with addon number pad, tsangan, and ISO kits. We'll be using SP's WYSE font with 7bit's legends, and the colours will be Charcoal on Orange for the mods, Orange on Charcoal for the alpha keys.

Myself and TheProfosist will be co-running this group buy once it opens! Everything will be shipped from the US, with shipping costs and such to follow in the coming weeks.

For those interested in some delicious OCKC, this post will be updated to reflect changes, updates, and list those who are interested. Remember to check for updates before posting!

We'd like to hit a minimum of 50 orders for the base sets before going ahead with it Once we hit that, addons such as Tsangan kits and others would be open to order at no minimum, but of course the more the cheaper!.

We've reached it! This will definitly be a go!

The GB itself won't be open for another couple of weeks at least as we still need to sort things out with SP, choose the exact colours and work out some of the finer bits.

This does mean that the colours in these mockups are not final, but are here to showcase the idea.

Things up for consideration:

Custom "geek" and "hack" Super mods. This will be included with the set if we go through with it, however the price will be raised slightly assuming there isn't already molds for them, so the new legend fee will be dispursed among all the orders. It shouldn't be more than a couple bucks added onto the total.



Another thing suggested would be to do inverted Orange on Charcoal mods to have a 'flat' set:



A very simple recolour to show the intended legends used for this set. I'm not proficient in photoshop hence the multiple mockups.




Pricing:

For a ANSI layout layout doing two-tone, the estimated pricing tiers are as such, however these costs are NOT taking setup fees, shipping, and any other fees into account. Any such fees will be voiced and divided among all of the orders.

Definitely will take them into account. If there is enough interest to meet the minimum requirements, completely.

I was thinking an orange that wasn't far on either the lighter or darker side. Don't have a specific shade in mind for the moment.

I agree. The one thing that I was considering was that the base colour for the proposed set by QWERkeys might end up being a charcoal base, and with orange infill it could defeat the purpose.

That said, I would like a charcoal/orange set with inverted mods, and that can easily be done through doubleshots and still not be super expensive.

Also, I was thinking a darker base colour than that. A little too light coloured IMO.

As was stated, everything's up for debate. I'll add to the OP as time goes on.

I want to keep this one orange themed. The initial idea did spawn from the original site's theme of orange on dark, and with lots of white sets, that could be a better choice.

That orange is my vote.  Looks slightly different in person, but fairly accurate representation.  I'm sure you're all familiar with WASD colors though.

Nah that just means you've budgeted poorly (aka allocated too much) for other non essentials like food, water and shelter.

I think we are at the cusp of having cherry legends complete soon. May want to take our time on this one until we can do it right. I think everyone has enough WYSE font key sets, time to start collecting with cherry font.

There is also interest for a charcoal/orange colour scheme.

With this one, the modifier legends would be filled in with charcoal colour used for the base set. I couldn't do a simple edit that looked decent, I'll fix it later when I get a proper mockup.

The Orange and Charcoal is nice, especially when you add the Charcoal coloured text/legends to the Modifiers.

And dare I say it, I will buy spare Geekhack keys from QWERkeys just to make it that little bit .......special.
