Anyone down for a freindly game of CIV V?
« on: Thu, 04 October 2012, 13:17:34 »
I often play CIV V (G&K since I got it but we could do vanilla) on my days off (saturday) as it's really the only day I can sit for 8 hours straight and play vidja

Was just wondering if anybody is down for a 6 (can't really do more as CIV V MP takes a wild dump) man FFA or 2x3 team game this saturday starting around noonish or earlier central time?

I'd definitely be up for it. However, my location here in Europe means rather different timezones, which may sometimes cause problems in a game as long as Civ. Got some things to do tomorrow so I'd be available perhaps around 11 PM, but I can play deep into the night without a problem. And naturally some other Saturday is also fine by me. I'm Calade on Steam, and I have all the DLCs.

But.. can a game of Civ ever be friendly? ;)

I've gotten rather P/Oed when a buddy of mine dropped nukes and was toying with me in the end game (I don't use nukes because i'm TOO GOOD FOR THAT ****. . . Also i need the uranium for nuclear plants. and GDR) I still ended up winning by cultural victory (one step above time victory lol) but i'm pretty sure if he really wanted to he could have pushed out a science victory or even stomped soldiers on my soil, he was mostly just nuking me every few turns to hurt my production, got old quick.

we don't talk much more.

Either way calade I think you're on my freinds list already? We had planned to play 3 or 4 weekends ago but you ended up heading out for a night on the town IIRC.

Ah yes indeed! The thought of recognizing you crossed my mind when I was typing the message, but I quickly ignored it since you had such a different nick here than you have on Steam. :) Oh well, at least the info is there now for any other willing participants. I hope we can actually get into a game soon!

Pending Windows 7 installation and steam download, I could be down for a game; however, I am in the lacking of an expansion pack.

Will update in about five hours for the status of my endeavor.

we can play vanilla, it doesn't bother me much either way. GaK is nice if you have the extra cash but it has a  lot of features that should have just been built in from the start (Basically it's just stuff they removed from Civ IV then put back in and balance issues LOL.)

INCIDENTALLY if you pick up a pre-order of XCOM (before oct 10 I believe) You get a free giftable copy of Civ V vanilla.

Unfortunately, the installation unsuccessful.

bummer. Well if we have 4+ people next week we can fill in a 6 man game with AI (either a 2 man AI team or FFA 5 or 6 man.)
