I use Cherry MX blacks and do not bottom out on my keyboard. Sure it's linear and doesn't have that tactility, but if you're looking at the screen, you don't really need that tactile feeling, you'll just see the character pop up. The only reason I also use MX Blues, is because I love the way they sound when I bottom them out, but I actually seem to type slower with them overall. Also with this tactile feedback, the keys actually end up bottoming out no matter how light I press on the keys, especially if I am typing relatively fast whereas with the linear keys of the Blacks, I never bottom out when typing fast (except for the spacebar or the backspace or enter). Hell, I feel like I'm barely even touching the keys with MX Blacks.
I also agree with Lethal Squirrel that rubber domes do have that tactile "bump," maybe not as noticeable as say MX Blues ( I dont have a topre so I can't say I know the difference), but there is a little bump feeling. I've been using a Dell rubber dome keyboard at work and I can say that I do feel the bump. Perhaps you press down hard on the keyboard and so in turn do not feel the tactile bump?
but again, to each their own. If one prefers topre over Cherry, then that's their preference.
