Guess what's back!? QFTK!

Back up one the official site: http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/keyboards/quickfiretk/

BOOM can't wait until a retailer stocks them. Not even in the CM store atm.

Anyone else eagerly anticipating this?

Beside from the bad placement of the Print/Scroll/Pause keys for the sake of equally bad branding, I am in love, especially the color plating depending on switch. Seeing that it's from CM, I have high hope that the price will be competitive as well.

If it's Costar-made and costs around US$ 90 as the Quickfire Pro does, I think I'll have quite a strong recommendation for my gamer friends...

Something that surprised me, is that it seems there won't be Cherry MX Black on this model.

And what's even more strange, is that they show a picture with the following description:

N-Key Rollover over USB
N-Key Roll Over in USB mode means even the wildest key combos are registered perfectly.

And the picture that's over it is:

If it's NKRO, why in the nine bloody hells is the picture showing a 6KRO example?

Like the Plum89, cool.

Although do I see a 1.5x Control, 1x Win, and 1.25 Alt?  Good luck finding a keyset for that!

If I weren't in complete love with this ducky and based solely off of my experience with the QFR, I'd buy the crap out of this.  I'd make my roommate and his girlfriend buy one, too.

That's what the assumption has been since Carter said who wasn't making it.

I'm sure one of us will get one and disassemble to see who made it.

nice. The layout is exactly what I want. too bad it isn't produced by Costar, if it was I'd stop making up reasons why I don't want a new board and just get one.

The thing is, if it at least really were a Costar keyboard, we wouldn't have to worry about things such as "failure rate" or the quality of the keyboard itself before it was even released, all we would be discussing about would be:

"When is it released, how much will it cost and how many can a single customer buy".

Because damn, my dream of finding a US$ 80 high quality mechanical keyboard with full backlight seems quite faraway, eh?

Damn, that is a really nice board. The weird bottom row kinda sucks though and is possibly a dealbreaker for anyone who intends on replacing the keycaps. And I agree that it would've been nice to include separate Prt Sc, etc. keys in place of the branding and made the lock LEDs a little more nondescript.

My signature hasn't changed since 2012. I should really update it.

I'm really excited about this. My first mechanical keyboard (that I am typing on right now) is a CM Quick Fire Pro that I bought before learning about the problems with it. It is working almost perfect still, but a full-backlit keyboard, with a numpad but the size of a TKL? Couldn't be better for me, since I can't live without a numpad on my work board but taking up less desk space is always better. I'm thinking this will be my first keyboard with blues, and I'll keep my QFR Pro with browns around and see what I like best (with my girlfriend getting the extra one probably - she is already jealous of the QFR Pro and I've only had it a couple weeks).

Anyone know anything as far as release dates are concerned? Or am I just missing it on the site?

Oh, and first post on GH!

The part that goes "you know that a mechanical keyboard is the difference between winning or losing"? I'm gonna guess they hired people from Razer to write the blurb.
Either way, as long as they still offer the Quickfire Rapid I'll get that instead. Planning on getting one with reds sometime and giving it some new keycaps.

The six pack is also one row lower than you'd expect because of where print screen and such are... I think that's even worse.

haha, yeah.

They have a very specific goal: convince you that whatever they are selling will make you play better and win.  Of course they know it doesn't but it is a technique as old as marketing itself.

Also, want an easy way to prove its durability to us?

Also, check this topic, it seems CM took the keyboard style after it:

MAYBE, just maybe the OEM is the same as that keyboards layout creators, which is the same as Noppoo keyboards, which is PLU (or is it PLUM?). They've been doing keyboards with backlight just recently and the Noppoo Choc Mini's quality is quite good!

I highly doubted that the PLUM board is related to CM TK in any way.

PLUM(also made noppoo and Neo Zelia) made board had some quite distinct characteristics which is different from other board makers. At the very least, they don't use the 1.5x,1x & 1.25x modifiers.

Good. Black keyboard with brown plate would be ugly as hell. Shame that White LED only comes with MX Browns though. I'm almost settled on not liking MX Brown switches. I'd probably get this if it had the option for black. But given the economics, I understand wanting to limit it to only 3 SKUs.

iOne is capable of producing a decent board.  However in 10 boards you are not going to get 10 or even 8 decent boards.  Consistent results are an issue with iOne... QA is seriously lacking.

very tempted but what is that bottom row?

Guessing from the photo: 1.5-1-1.25-spacebar-1.25-1-1-1.5

So on a normal layout, (1.25*7)+6.25 = 15.00 total on bottom row
so...
15.00-(1*3)-(1.25*2)-(1.5*2) = 6.5x spacebar??

Never seen one of those on the aftermarket.

Why did they have to make such an awkward bottom row? Keyboard would have been perfect otherwise. :(

PLUM 96.  Same layout with normalized bottom row, just somewhat annoying to get here in the USofA.

Imsto sells it.  It does look a bit flimsy in the photos, though.

Flimsy is nice! It means it is more portible!

Mine is plenty solid.  It is PCB mounted so it does lack the heft of my other boards, but is a very nice keyboard / layout with wireless build in.

Plum does not look terribly flimsy to me.  I ordered two and so I'll know soon enough.
