Pre-worm here. Too bad peeps that do damage don't go to jail.

The wikis loss is tragic no matter how you slice it. To say otherwise is spiteful. Some may be rebuilt over time, but the loss definitely hurts everyone.

Indeed.  I have been looking for a guide on how to mod a full sized Model M to make it a space saver, but unfortunately the guide was lost to the R00TW0RM...

Anyone happen to know where I might find said guide?  (sorry to hijack your thread there SmallFry...)

We can't talk about the details: it's part of being in the pre-r00tworm club.

First rule of R00TW0RM Club is that you do NOT talk about it.

What about those who were pre-r00tw0rm, but could not reactivate their accounts and so created new accounts.

Are they both pre- and post-r00tw0rm?

Have they truly been enlightened?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Using the dictionary as an example, the "unabridged" dictionary of keyboards does not exist.

Pre-R00TW0RM, the "wiki" section of Geekhack was perhaps the biggest and best reference available anywhere, while the current GH wikis (and slightly more comprehensive Deskthority wikis) are little more than "pocket" paperbacks at best.

I am a lazy sod, and had only made a few small contributions, each with a dozen photos and a dozen paragraphs of instructions on deconstructing and rebuilding Model M/Fs, but even those are gone.

It is hard for me to comprehend someone deliberately eliminating work that took hundreds of hours of his own time to create, and especially since it was work that benefited hundreds or thousands of people, greatly, in their quest to educate themselves about mechanical keyboards.
From the US Constitution, Article 1, Section 8 :

The   Congress   shall have Power
To declare War,  grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;
To provide for calling forth the Militia  to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;
