Got a call from paypal just a bit ago.

The limitation on me giving money is still in place until some kind of reserve is set up on the account in that I have to have and deliver all the caps before it's released to me as a sort of liability protection on paypal's part.

Clearly, this won't affect the buy directly, but I may end up out of pocket for an indeterminate amount of time.

What PayPal says we can do is to refund everyone's money and roll back the entire group buy.

Because here we have someone (tjcaustin) who might transfer a few thousand dollars a year through PP, and now all of sudden he has $30k sitting in his account, from hundreds of different sources, surely that doesn't seem the least bit suspicious...

At least tjcaustin contacted them before just accepting mass payments, since that would probably raise a massive red flag and instead of freezing anything above $5k, PP would have frozen his entire account for 30+ days until they figure out exactly what happened.

That's crazy. Raindrops are going to fall back as refunds if they start getting all like that. Well have to fugue out a better way. They don't deserve to make money off our group buys.

I'm not sure they will, other than the fees that they charge.  This is money I'll get back after the buy has been completed (shipped and the like).

What I mean by that is that, even though I was expecting (and had all the paperwork ready to give to them showing that what was happening was legit) some kind of review, I'm going to use this as an opportunity to ready a full-time business.

I've got 25 people left to pay today.  I know of at most 5 that have asked me to give them extra time (not at the cost of the GB's time, I can cover a handful of sets.  And if they don't pay, I have spares to sell, heh).

Don't get me wrong, I didn't mean to push this in any way. In the end, it's your GB and what you say counts. That's no problem with me. I just wanted to say what I think, just as I did when I stated that I'm not a fan of 7bit mods in this GB. But when I look at the OP, somehow that was misinterpreted too, cause it seems that I'm the only one that killed that alternative.

Imo pushing back the deadline because some people didn't manage to pay their invoice within almost a month and after 1 or 2 reminders should only be an option if tiers would change without those orders. Otherwise, the GB might be delayed for another month cause some people will probably manage to not-pay for a few more weeks.

As I said, I didn't mean to be pushy on this one, just stating my opinion.
