My video review and teardown of the Ducky 9087S Year of the Dragon limited edition mechanical keyboard with cherry MX black switches.

Quick comments:

  • Limited quantity with individual serial number
  • TKL size 87 keys, ANSI layout, backlit
  • Most versatile LED functions, programmable
  • Steel backplate, black
  • Secure detachable USB cable with variable positioning
  • NKRO over USB
  • DIP switches for added key functionality
  • Stiffer spacebar switch
  • Single-sided PCB, red
  • All surface-mounted components (SMC)
  • Clean soldering job, RoHS compliant
  • Elegant retail box
  • Includes keyboard cover, sleeve, WASD cluster, “2012” caps, keychain
  • Overall solid and great quality keyboard

The top cover's rear ledge is shorter and less deep top to bottom to give the floating keycaps look, so I think that is why it feels flimsier. I don't like the blocky tacked on look on the bottom of the case, though I feel Ducky have gone a step up in quality with these new 9000 series boards. I liked the aluminum plate in the old ones, but steel one is stiffer of course. Although I am not surprised it is a Holtek, but I am surprised how programmable Holtek is. If it can accept programmable LED, please give us programmable layout...

The only disappointment is the led's on my red switch look pink and I was hoping they would be more purple/darker like on the pure.

They did call it pink. Pure was called purple even though it more magenta.

Does the Ducky Shine DK9087G2 Pro PBT worth a buy? (since they already installed the PBT keycaps on).

and does this DK9087G2 Pro PBT, keyboard have other switch on the spacebar? (cuz i would like all the Brown switch put on the keyboard) .

-thx, ^^
