Sure, it has an ugly gamer look, but at least they're trying to explore new possibilities for features, like the accessory mounting rail with a macro pad, modular number pad, and increased water resistance (the plate has little bits that extend upwards to cover the top and sides of the switches, making it harder for water to get in).
Seems silly to think everyone ought to dislike something that strives to make actual functional improvements over the norm just because it has an aesthetic that isn't to your tastes.
