Filco Question
« on: Tue, 18 December 2012, 01:26:18 »
I currently have a CM Quickfire Pro with Brown Switches.  It's nice, but the function keys are pretty far from the number keys.  This is an issue while gaming because I use F1-F5 frequently.  Are the Filco function keys closer?  To give a reference, the razer keyboards have pretty close function keys and thats what I want, just not a razer haha

Nope. Same distance. What you need is a poker or a phantom. ;D
Looking for CC's!

Poker has no function keys you're thinking of a Race. Phantom has same spacing as any other TKL but you can get rid of the horizontal space with a specific place.

I have a choc mini for gaming (sc2)
You can't go wrong with this: cheap, nkro and plate mounted.
Function keys are easy to reach, and you can even remap ctrl on the caps lock key on the go.
You may also want to check the kbt race for its same form factor

I've seen the choc mini, seems ok, but I prefer a full-sized keyboard

All TKL have nearly the same function key distance. The size in between TKL and 60% is what you want.

just a quick suggestion, you could use autohotkey to remap your number keys + alt/ctrl/shift/tilda/whatever to the F keys.
