Lovin the Filco

I gotta admit, I was skeptical at first when everyone pushed me towards the Filco despite the premium price tag, but I have seen the light. The feel of these blue switches is unbeatable. I owe a lot to people on this site :)

I just bought a Filco Ninja Majestouch full size about a week ago. I love mine as well. Good buy! And I'm glad you got it in the best switch.

Its terrible at first... Then it just kinda seems like a normal price for a keyboard... Soon you'll be selling your children on the black market to pay for your addiction but you can never get enough and theres always something new out there...

I just got my TKL ninja in the mail this week as well, (Reds).  It may just be in my head, but they feel better than the K60 or whatever the corsair model is that I tried at Frys.  The one gripe I had about this board is that it was shipped with squeaky shift, tab and BS keys.  But I just need to find some lube i guess.  $150 keyboard that you have to fix when it gets to your house, lame.

People on GH will have you believe Filco is built by Jesus and used by angels.  I wouldn't go that far on the quality.  For instance I have a dk9087g2 that is almost, if not as good.  It's really hard to compare keyboards when they have different switches.  They just have a different feel all together.

Is the Filco good?  Absolutly.  Is it worth all the hype? Debatable.

I'm going to be buying myself a Filco for my birthday, and I'm trying to decide what switch/combo I want. Anyone have any favorites?

My secret real desire is to get the reprogrammable controller and a Japanese Filco and remap all of those tasty bottom row switches to be function layers :o

I'm not sure I'll ever acheive that desire though :( I don't know how hard it is to get a Japanese Filco in the states :x

I can't really speak for other switches, but I can highly recommend the blue switch, especially if you are a typist. I'm also an avid FPS gamer, and for me, I have no problems with using the blue switch for gaming. The switch can be quite loud, so you may want to use it in a secluded room, or consider O-rings from WASD.

Be careful with the o-rings.  I don't think they fit on cherry profile keys.  So you'd be stuck with OEM forever.  I bought the blue and "like" them.  but I will admit, they get anoying after a while.  I like the tactile bumb, but hate the "clicky" that comes with it.  I'm currently trying to get ergo-clears.  I want the feel of the bump without the annoying clicky sound.

I read not to long ago, someone was trying to get a group buy, or an interest check for that controller you're talking about.
