I think most people would say that it runs in tiers. My personal list, after spending some time on these forums and a few other places, are like this:

Filco
Leopold
Ducky (Shine II)

Then

Keycool 87
CM Quickfire Rapid
Plum 87

Those are, in my opinion, the most common and probably most worthwhile tenkeyless. I could be wrong though. Other brands that have some clout are HPE and Noppoo, and I'm sure more Asian brands I can't remember.

WASD is coming out with a tenkeyless sometime in the next few months, and that should be a very good keyboard.
Stockpile: Das Keyboard Ultimate (Blues), Ducky YotD (Reds), Model M ('87), Poker (Reds), Siig Minitouch (ALPS) || In Progress: Phantom || Wishlist: Filco Japanese Layout (Browns)

Personally I would place the CM QFR in-line with the Filco. The deciding factor then is budget. If you can afford the quality of a Filco, go for it. If you're strapped for cash, then get the QFR.

My signature hasn't changed since 2012. I should really update it.

CM QFR if you are on a budget and don't want backlighting.

Filco if you are not on a budget and don't want backlighting.

Ducky if you want backlighting.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
