Hi from Germany
« on: Tue, 08 January 2013, 17:56:15 »
Hello geekhack community,

I greet you all from germany. I am on the hunt for my first mechanical keyboard and hope to find some help here finding my ultimate typing tool and to exchange opinions on all matters related to the obvios topic here. I am glad I found you this forum. :D Since the death by Coca-Cola of my "Cherry Keyboard G83-6744LUZDE-0" I am desperately in need for something useful to type on. This rubber thing I borrowed from my room mate is killing me. :D

Welcome to Geekhack!

There seem to be a few Germans who have joined recently, perhaps you can swap notes on where to get keyboards in Germany :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Welcome!!! I love visiting Germany! It's great to have you here!

I don't know if you can get CoolerMaster boards in .de, but I have had great luck with the QuickFire Rapids, and the price hasn't been beat! =)

anything with blue switches with a good rep is fine anyways :P
