Look at what I get to clean up [Lotsa Model M's]
« on: Thu, 17 January 2013, 16:19:31 »
HOLY POOP I got a crapton of Model Ms to clean up and sell. Someone who works at my university (who has a myriad of various electrical components and test equipment) had four model m's in his back closet, which he has convinced me to sell for him (hardly needed to be).

Here be the girls:

Silver Label, that one is mine!

Silver Label, LED-less

Dat date...

Wounded Warrior (ordering replacement caps and springs from Unicomp)

Box-o-Cables (some PS/2, some AT)

Someone got creative with one...

The fifth Model M is mine, It's a white label 1990 model (without the re-inforced number pad keys). The rest are very early, the LED-less silver label being from 1986! The rest of his batch ranges from 1987-1988. Very cool! He's going to look for some more for me to restore, but I think I will be finding a way to keep both the silver label ones!  :D

Good job, and Good luck. I think you'll need it!
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

Cool.

The 1390131s are the ones that get me excited.
"However, my view has changed in recent days. Trump’s behavior is so bizarre, so unhinged, and so counter to his short-term interests that the most likely explanation for his actions is that Trump either believes or knows that he is mentioned in the Epstein files in ways that are even more damaging than the blowback he is getting for not releasing the files."

Good find!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
