Hello!
I've got a question, just to be informed for the future GB.
Is it possible to order DSA (or any other spherical) L-shaped Enter key?
Thank you for the answer ;)

I'd contact Signature Plastics directly.

I know we had to use a non-spherical alternative format for some keys, possibly the ISO Enter.

Note that L-shaped enters tend to be non-standardized, so that might affect compatibility.

L-shaped Enter ≠ ISO Enter.

Actually, it's like an ISO Enter plus 1 button:

Yes, of course interested!

And would it be possible to include the L-shaped Enter key to that GB?

if there's enough interest, why not?

do you have the exact key shape? in units, is it 1 x 2 x 1.75 x 1? (1 unit top, 2 height, 1.75 bottom, 1 left)

or is it 1.25 x 2 x 1.5 x 1?

Yes, a simple two colour key-set would be superb.

I'll buy several if you're going to run a Group Buy on this colour combination.  Please make sure this actually runs, and keep away from anymore differing colour (Modifiers, Enters, Backspace, Esc's) suggestions, because we don't need them anymore.

For once just stick to an ultra conservative colour choice and see how many will buy it.  Usually the youngster's want every colour under the rainbow but since this key-set will attract the 'oldies' you need to start offering something that will stay in their keyboards for years rather than just the usual 'craze' that lasts only for a couple of months.

Exactly!

It would also be best with a big-old Enter key and some stepped mods, but supporting an 87-key ANSI TKL is apparently mandatory in Group Buys.

Who would go for the above in single-color ISO?

ISO WTF? Who uses ISO? You must not want any orders for your GB. I'm kinda joking, but not really.

Actually, I don't even have an ISO 'board, but I do remember those big Enter keys fondly.

Target audience doesn't own an ISO board. Those few who do, don't make up enough orders for a successful GB.

Fond memories of large RETURN key on archaic typewriter keyboards doesn't provide enough motivation to purchase a new keyboard in a different layout. :(

Seeing those keys makes me want to build up a board specifically for an ISO layout to take advantage of it.  :p

Does the GH60 support an ISO layout?

YES!!

Also, anyone with a Rosewill could convert their board to ISO. You would just have to order a custom ISO plate for it. The options are there on the PCB.

Damn, now I gotta go all UK on this.  They're the ones that use that weird layout.  If it means getting this retro kit then YES I will buy an all ISO/UK keyboard for this key-set.

See what you've done, made me go all British on this and I never intended to go that far.  ::)

You could go for the semi-ISO layout of a G80-8133 or 8200.

I could do, but both of those keyboards are rare as hen's teeth.  I just want to get a bog-standard ISO layout from Filco.  Because they still make them for a decent price tag.

I really like that green.

Isn't the blue in the Keyboard Color Chooser too dark compared to the one in the typewriter pic?
(for the record: I prefer the darker blue)

This might be a crazy idea.

Could SP produce a DSA cap similar to QWERKEYS' "B Series"? With a white border around the top surface of the key?

i will add that i really want a set of keycaps with this retro font, large (huge) lettering for the letter keys, and a grey and black color scheme. Basically i want the Round 3 keycap set.  But i will take retro looking caps in any color. even girly colors (not saying anyone chose girly colors in this thread) so ma lady can clack clack in style.

keep it wu-tang fellas. also if anyone has a round 3 keycap set they want to sell hit me up.

Round 3 DSA would be amazing. I would buy about 10 sets, cause that would be the last set of keys I would ever need.
That Nuclear board is still amazing as well. That "0" is awesome. We need more DSA GB's!

That Nuclear board is still amazing as well. That "0" is awesome. We need more DSA GB's!

I want those green keys in time for Fallout 4.

Any kind of Fallout-themed groupbuy keyset would be retro and awesome and completely 'must-have'. Make it military green sphericals, LOL!

Edit: make a military green keycap, dyesubbed with a 'worn-looking' font, or put the keycaps in one of those things they use to wear down stones until they're rounded, to grunge them up a bit. It would be the keycap equivalent of acid-washed jeans. Scary.

Edit #2: Here's a picture of the device.

I'd like to see more spherical caps in general and these SP DSA sets look amazing. I'd definitely be in for future GBs if I can get the money together.

D#@n I found out about geekhack too late to take part in this GB :-( If only anyone had spare keyset for newer Noppoo Choc Mini (6 psc of 1,25 modifiers in lowest row) ;-)

A set of blank spherical caps was my dream for many months, but retros would be second choice.

There are a few user/vendors who ordered enough extra sets that you might be able to pick them up after they ship. Might be a bit more expensive, sure, but they should be available.

I want that nuclear green set.  Large, centered labels in white, spherical green caps.

Me too!  I should get involved in the GB!

Joke.

Actually, what Matt3o and I were talking about today was going to SP and looking for weird retro legends.  Big letters, a slash through the zero, freaking missile silo, cold war bunker legends.  Since they don't charge extra for using different legends, just different colors and rows, those who are truly into the Nuclear Retro Green look can have some awesome caps!  Gimme the launch codes!

Who is making the ammo box case?  jdcarpe?  Somebody is.

Let's do this thing!

I like keyboards and case modding.  Everything about a computer should be silent -- except the KEYBOARD!

'85 IBM F-122/Soarer Keyboard |  Leopold FC200 TKL (Browns) + GH36 Keypad (Browns/Greens) | GH-122 (Whites/Greens) with Nuclear Data Green keycaps in a Unicomp case

Like the TechKeys Nuke single, except in dark green with a red or white radiation logo?  That'd be a nice mix of retro and ominous, Fallout/Civil Defense signage crossed with Metro 2033...

Could do a whole set in dark red as well, get that blocky Metro font or something close:

If we were doing a "Nuke Green" set', would we go for a faux weathered look? If so then maybe it would have to be dyesubbed legends? Or modify the font to make them look worn? Or skip the worn look entirely?
