Clicky and wireless?
« on: Fri, 23 November 2007, 14:03:17 »
Hello all, I have the Scorpius M10 and enjoy it, but I've been wondering if there is a similarly clicky keyboard that is wireless?

The only one I've seen is the elusive Filco Majestouch FKBT104M/EB.  Are there any alternatives, preferably available in the US?

Welcome to the boards!

I've not come across a wireless clicky keyboard in search. I think they would simply draw too much power, which is why they are so rare.

I was wondering about this too, I am not a fan of wireless, but at times wires are a bit.. messy. Yeah that Filco Majestouch is the only one i've seen that is wireless also. But, um there is some person by the name of "God Hand" or something like that types 800 strokers a minute, he uses the majestouch, but i am not sure if it is wirless or not. I'll link the youtube video here.

That video is pretty increadable. I'd like to try one of those Filco Majestouch if for nothing else than the sound it makes.

If you want a few more vids of what the majestouch sounds like here ya go quite an interesting and refined sound if ya ask me.

Shows a screen typing and you can hear what it sounds like.

Same guy as the one above, but instead you can see the keyboard design in the beginning and see him push the button as it appears on the screen.

This last guy you see the entire keyboard in all its clattering glory and the moniter in which he is typing in.

Enjoy :P?

I like the Kinesis video (even though it's supposedly a crappy membrane):

Anyways I have the logitech diNOVO keyboard the one before this one.... anyways aside from the looks.... HYPER TOUCH MY ASS i type so fast the words appear about 1.3 seconds later you may type 100 wpm on average.. i type 140 and on m yfastest nearly 160 LOGTIECH SUCKS!!! argh! and when i move to far away it stops working argh leave me alone!!!..... ok enough about that... Sexiest keyboard in terms of looks no theres much better like the Hacoa wood keyboard or that majestouch oh god i need to stop...

I am a professional writer, and I write on the computer (not paper), so I only type about 60 to 70 WPM and that is as fast as I have to go. I understand people can type that fast, I just can't fathom myself doing it. I don't think I need any more links to HHKB vids, I have seen most of them and I already bought one.

I am not too impressed with the di*Hell*no-vo keyboard or wireless keyboards for that matter. For what they charge, you could buy any number of mechanical keyboards either new or used with plenty of life left in them.

That Majestouch whatever looks better everytime I see it though ...

Haha, now that is classic diHELLnovo; anways I have to agree with you that majestouch does look sexier every time I see it now, hmm that or the HHKB2 is the question, the majestouch does come in a 91 and a 89 key version , it has both english and japanese on it, while they also have a wireless majestouch, and they also have a mini version with mechanical keys im not sure which switches though... Argh.

Does anyone find it strange or worrisome that in those videos of the Majestouch, some of the taps on the keyboard appear to repeat and produce TWO characters on the screen?  What's going on there?

I think he was using the Majestouch with the black Cherry switches, which are linear.  Since the only feel is a spring, by tapping a finger on one of the keys and leaving the finger there, the key will bounce, like letting a ball bounce up and down, hence the repetition of keys.  It's hard for me to explain.
