WASD key caps - light and dark grey
« on: Fri, 15 February 2013, 05:46:33 »
Guys, can someone who bought light and dark grey WASD keycaps show me some example photos?

I'm trying to define what light grey is and is it similar to some off-white caps seen on old white caps.

Show Image

Dark grey, light grey, and white from WASD.

WOW! That looks very dark.
Are you sure this is dark grey etc, not black and etc?

This compared to what they show on their website it looks totally different.

I really like "warm" grays but do not like "cool" grays.

But that is just me.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

They aren't crazy dark, I just have terrible lighting in this room. Next to black for comparison.

Turn the brightness up in some image editor, that's way too dark.

Nothing is stopping you from doing that yourself if you need something more accurate. I am not the person you want to come to for accurate, well taken pictures, trust me.

Now I have a pickle...
I wanted to go with light/dark grey, but from those photos I see dark grey is way too dark...

Excaloborg - can you please do one more thing for me?
Can you tell me how white is white cap?:)
Is it white - bright white, snow white? Or is it like dirty white, fading white, like.. I don't know... like this white smoke?
..and is this light grey more like this beige in the chart?

This keyboard has whites - do those whites look like them?

the wasd white keys are more yellowish. I tried to match some with my pbt white keys but they were way whiter.

I have attached a picture I just took with WASD White, light gray, dark gray, and Black against a gray background.

They will probably look a bit different under different lighting, and may not look the same on your monitor as mine.

But, despite not being the greatest picture, these seem to be reasonable facsimiles of how they look in 'real life'. (At least on my monitor).

HA! That is EXACTLY what I wanted to see! :)

Thank you very much, that shows perfectly the difference, photo is fine, good light etc.
I can imagine difference made by diff monitors, that 's ok.

Just got some light grey in the mail. Wow, wasd caps are thin i mean paper thin, thinner than anythin' i've ever seen. Honestly, SP is thick in comparison.

I just took a quick measurement of the side wall thickness of a few ('Right Shift') keys I have.

    WASD-     - 0.038 inches
    SP  DS    - 0.051
    Cherry DS - 0.057

Maybe part of the difference is that they are not Double-Shot?
