Yes. I can't speak for 55g Springs w/ Clears, but these feel so much better than any other switches I've used before (limited to reds, browns, blues, and blacks).

I have both of those, if you replace the springs and stems, I can start now

For me, that seems almost too light.

But then again, reds/browns feel light to me, but blues/ergo clears (with the same spring) feel fine.  Maybe the tactile bump would make it better.

I am thinking of getting the clear switches from

http://deskthority.net/marketplace-f11/cherry-mx-taking-pre-orders-t2760.html
and
http://deskthority.net/marketplace-f11/ped-s-sale-switches-phantom-pcb-plates-caps-keyboards-t5182.html.

and the springs from sherry.

So how much would it be if I were to replace the switches and springs? A price breakdown would be nice, i.e. the cost of labour, materials, etc :)

Switches: $54
Springs: $16
PCB: $26
Plate: $20
Stabs: $7
Stickers: $4
Lube: $1

And considering soldering will take around 45 minutes, stickering and lubing another 4 hours, you'd be dumb not to buy

My guess is that no case included is a turn-off for people. Plastic cases are not available to buy, and aluminum cases are not easy to source. If this had a case, then it's a great deal.

I must admit that the lack of a case is a huge turn off, and I'm still thinking about it..

and now that the sources of clear switches are gone, I don't think I know how to replace yours.. :/

just wondering what a clear's like in relation the black/red/blue's ?
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

stock clears have a higher actuation weight("heavier") and is more tactile than red and blues

Stickers - Stabilize the top of the switch
Lube - Makes it easier for the stem to move
Plate - Add rigidity to the PCB and switches

Yea, I know what you mean. However I think it's still a pretty decent deal.

Clears have a higher actuation force and a larger tactile bump. Ergo clears have the same actuation force as a brown, but are much more tactile due to the larger bump.

No problem. Happy to help.

The Beast is the one who designed the stainless one, so I'd say he's probably the best person to ask. :-)
