How to Use Media Keys
« on: Sat, 23 February 2013, 05:26:43 »
Hey Folks,

Yesterday, I received my new Noppoo Choc Mid 87.  What a nice key board!  It's really well built, solid and heavy.  Great.  Also, I noticed that the keycap characters appear to be printed and then coated with a transparent coating. The coating only covers the printed character.  I can see this coating, but it should help to prevent wear and prolong the life of the printed material.  Nice feature.

Anyway, on to my question.  How are the media keys supposed to function?  They don't seem to do anything.  Only two keys do anything, as follows (I'm using Win8):

F1 brings up Windows Help and Support
F3 brings up Win8's Metro style Search

The other keys do nothing.

Thanks for looking,

Morppoo

Look at the bottom row of your keyboard. The right alt has a button called "FN" next to it? That's short for function. Hit FN+F1 in order to get your media keys to work.

Hey thanks.  My multi media keys work!  I was so surprised.  I likely won't make much use of these function keys as I don't do much multi media on the computer.  I watch TV on the TV, listen to music on FM radio (mostly), watch movies on the DVD player on TV.  I guess I'm not up to date in these things.  I just wanted to know how to use the functions on the keyboard.  Curious minds want to know.
