I have the older open headphones: the ATH-AD900's and they're awesome and fit really well. I want to try some of AT's higher end headphones eventually. I'm told that they don't fit everyone, but mine are excellent. I've worn them for 16+ hours several times, and it's always been comfortable.

IF it helps, the closed versions often sell for much less than the open ones, and I believe most people much prefer the open ones. I've read the difference between the 900 and 900x is the latter have added bass. I like the level of bass on mine, so to me this is a no brainer.

Well open headphones are supposed to have better audio quality, the reason i favor closed is the noise isolation. i live in a 1br apartment with my girlfriend and zoning her out sometimes is a must :)

I notice they also have the older AD900's (which are open, and supposedly less bass-heavy) I have the AD900's and they are amazing. Fit is perfect, very light, very comfortable, excellent soundstage, etc. Mine are almost 5 years old, and have been my main headphone this entire time.
