which keyboard is quite similar to ibm model m?

hi guys,I am now using one IBM model m SpaceSaver.
the problem is ..I got to work in my bed room very late and my wife was really really upset by the "click click" noise which is fine by me.yes,I m in China, a small apartment.
after complains and apologizes,I'm going to buy a new keyboard.
I'v tried a couple of keyboards of my colleagues,and I have been typing on them for days.
but uh....my thought got stuck on the other keyboards.....most of time I even can't write a single line in ms word. and it started to flow again with IBM model M.
what is wrong with me?

Could anyone recommend some keyboard JUST like IBM Model M and just without that "click",please?
thank you in advance.

b.t.w. how about unicomp Q.T. 101 classic black?
Q.T for quiet type I guess.
if it has buckling spring key and without that noise,what more can I ask for?

quiet touch boards are rubber dome. there is no silent buckling spring board in existence. search this forum for floss mod, this is the fastest, the easiest and also effective mod to make your board less noisy.

I have a couple of rubber dome model m's in the house, one of which takes a beating.  And they are not too bad in a pinch.  fwiw,  I can tell the difference blindfolded.

I will say this.  When I have to type at someone else's desk at work on a cheap Dell rubber dome, I immediately cringe.   On the Model M rubber dome, it's like somebody let a little air out of my tires and something isn't quite right.  As cheap as they are, it might be worth a try.

The old Dell Quiet Touch (or whatever they were called) were really good rubberdome standard keyboards. They are all over the place and cheap.

Yes, unfortunately, there is nothing that feels like a buckling spring without the CLACK of a buckling spring.

If you want a quality rubber dome keyboard that won't cost a small fortune, try to find a Dell Quietkey RT7D5JTW, made in Thailand.  I have an old one at work, that has seen better days, and at home a new one I got from an eBay seller, which types like a dream.

I second the recommendation of the original Quiet Key, and also the IBM 8923 is a good rubber dome, easy to find and cheap.

Putting a thin layer of silicon grease on the inner side of the key stem will also make a Model M quite quiet, it will make the keyboard feel different though.

As the other said, there's nothing like buckling spring.
The Unicomp QT is a good compromise but it is still not as quiet as the usual rubber dome board.

Another option with an excellent tactile feel is the Matias Quiet Pro.
If you like heavy keys (comparable to the buckling spring) Go with the Unicomp QT
If you like lighter keys then the Matias would be a better choice.

Maybe consider MX clear, but I don't know. I've never used a buckling spring. :(

You can try a floss mod to take the edge off the noise, but it will still be clicky. No cherry switch can emulate the Model M, but the closest one would be the ergo clear.  Other than that, a good rubber dome is an alternative.
