Looking to buy a 60%
« on: Mon, 11 March 2013, 16:31:40 »
Hey guys,

I'm wanting to get a new keyboard now that I have had this one for a while now (A CMStorm QFRapid) and although it is a really nice board and I will definitely be using it in the office when I get a new contract, I have fallen in love with the 60% boards that are on show on GH.

I especially love the Poker's and the Filco's and I really can't decide which of the 2 I like more but when I was looking earlier for some stockists here in the UK, I was only able to find one place but they didn't sell the 60%'s with Cherry Blacks.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find some here in the UK or maybe the EU? I don't really fancy waiting that long for them to come from USA/Asia.

Doesn't look like KeyboardCo.com has any in stock, so you're best bet is going to be to check the forums over at http://deskthority.net, since they are more EU centric and see who is selling something used.

The other option is to take a look at getting a KBT Pure. Nearly identical to the Poker, but with a shorter right shift and extra key. MechanicalKeyboards.com has one for sale with MX-Reds. There are also a couple of sources for theses in the classifieds section for both GH and DT.

Hope that helps!

@ CPTBadass - The GH60 does look nice! I like the idea of something that has been created by the community for the community as it means that it will most probably be tailored to my needs more than a mass produced one from other companies.

@ mashby - KeyboardCo.com was the website I was browsing earlier but like you say, they don't have things in stock at the moment. I will have a look over at DT but I would prefer to get a new one rather than a "pre-loved" one. Is the USA probably going to end up being my point of call though?

US or Asia is going to be the best bet for new in ANSI. Though if you want ISO there is whatever it is called Pure/Poker 2/Pro should be available from Ducky Nordic soonish I guess within Europe.

GH60 will be fully customizable. You can set it up however you want and like it. Ivan's GH60 has a custom layout for example

@ IvanIvanovic - I would love to get hold of one of a Poker personally as I love how compact they are and they seem to be popular with people who do a variety of different things so again it would suit my needs if I can find a MXBlack version.

@ CPTBadass - The more I look at the GH60, the more I do like it and I think it will definitely be in the running when I have some sort of shortlist! Is there any sort of date that I will be able to get hold of one? I believe they are still in development?

They're in Beta. Keep an eye out in the GB and Making Stuff Togther subforums. A timeline for when they come out? A wise man once told me "All things will come SoonTM" :P

It's your own fault really man. You like Blizzard games and you joined GH. Should've just been content with Best Buy and MicroCenter stuff. But noooo, you had to come to GH :P

Well, MK.com is an excellent distributor for Vortex, but is based in the US. There appears to be a distributor on DT called Ducky Nordic, but it's unclear what they sell and to whom. Their web site is just a "Coming Soon" page.

Otherwise, I'd suggest checking the Classifieds. Patrick appears to have several Pure boards still for sale, or you might be able to talk The Beast into building up another board. I ended up purchasing my  KBT Pure CNC from a fellow member here on GH and had is shipped from Hong Kong, which turned out rather nicely.

Good luck!

A couple more options:

1. HzFaq over at DT has a KBT Pure with Clears for sale

2. KBTPure.com has 1 Poker left in stock, but it's unclear what switch it's using. The good news is that they are based in France, so it's closer to you.
