On good ol' fleabay, there are a couple of 'dutch' auctions for Cherry ML switch laptop keyboards- one for G84-4001, and one for G84-4003.

I'm tempted to pick one up, to see if I can replace the scissors-switch k/b in my laptop...

Unfortunately, I can't find any specs or datasheets for 'em anywhere.

Long time ago, my uncle still worked as a manager in HP laptop department.
I once asked him if there stands a chance for HP to cooperate cherry to make a keyboard with ML switches.

I guess it will be a good idea. However, it finally didn't work.

Hope one day one of those Laptop manufacturer will give us a Laptop with cherry ML switches.

I bet it will at least as good as IBM laptop. ^_^

Did you find out what those keyboards are ? Do they have printed or lasered keypads ?

I have a couple of boards with ML switches on them - I'm not sure I'd rather have them in my laptop than the scissors that are in there. I'm actually not all that fond of them - the ones I have seem to tend to bind, especially off-axis, and have a feel as if they have "random" compression force. Just when you think you're used to them you're suddenly not registering keystrokes.

I have one on a non-graphics linux console system shoved in the corner to save space.

I have an answer for what these are from, as I came across some broken ones... They were used in Toshiba Laptop T4800CT/T5100, maybe some other models?
