brass!

brass is soft and expensive, not much of structural material.
From this...

So, due to the size of the case we would need 21lbs @ $6 per pound. Cnc time will also go up since the rpm of the bit need to be slowed down and needs to be cut slower.

Looks like I might be going to route of the brass and limited.

Keep $280 +/- in mind

To this... No way lol, you must be kidding boost :)

What's the advantage of using brass over other materials besides to cool factor?

i just read up about Brass and realized that it is an alloy made up of copper and zinc,
and are mostly being made as decoratives due to its gold-like appearance.
and also, Brass does not rust, it will tarnish over time and can be polished back to shine (the tarnishing effect can also be visually appreciated)

Added weight. It's about 3 times heavier than aluminum, and a tad heavier than steel.

Ace is obviously Acetrak.

I remember boost saying that his father was helping him design the case for the Phantom, which is called the "Skeldon" case, so maybe Skeldon is boost's father. :)

How hard would it be to lower the sides to make a low-profile case? Or the possible option of that.

If you can make a low profile, I bet even more people would join :D And it could only make a full brass case cheaper! ;D

I wrote that before looking. I didn't mean the angle based off the base, I just meant, kind of like the plate is level with the top of the case.

For reference stock poker case is about 6°, Filco TKL is about 10°. I personally like something close to 10°, but I do know some people don't prefer any angle at all.

Sorry I guess I lagged too much in giving standoff coordinates and you somehow got your own measurements huh?  :(

Nah no worries, boost was able to provide me some info but I wanted to doublecheck etc. Since I told him I'll get the files to him by the end of the week I decide to just go off of what I had, which SHOULD be okay.

The thing about the color white on metals is that you'd have to paint them...so I guess that would have to be a DIY thing since the alu cases will be anodized.
