Noppoo Choc Mini Help

I've got a white Noppoo Choc Mini MX Blue. I've been getting double keystrokes a lot with e and d.

I was worried it was the keyboard but it doesn't seem like it. My nieces computer doesn't have the issue with the board. It seems like it might be something on my end but I have no clue as to what. I've used multiple USB ports and even the PS2 but the problem persists. I'm not really sure what to do at this point and any help would be much appreciated.

I'm tempted to see if I can trade it for a Leopold with blues or another keyboard with PBT keycaps but I'm not sure and I don't have 60 posts yet.

Is it a new model with the detachable usb cable?

Could be some faulty switches, but you can also adjust the debounce on the keys. somewhere on the F layer (I think F10 and F11) there should be symbols on the front of the keys, they adjust the debounce up or down. That should do a software fix for your problem... mind you probably not the best solution, but its possible until you can/are willing to solve it further =p

Do note however, too much debounce might reduce the speed at which you can type at if its set way too high.

You know what, I can't find my source on that so I'm not sure if it is debounce delay now...

Debounce essentially aggregates multiple inputs and considers it a single press. As the name implies, its a software correction (that is necessary on almost any mechanical to digital input) that takes a set of inputs over a given time, and sends it as a single signal. Its necessary because a key press will generate a ton of input signals due to the key bouncing up and down over actuation points.

As such, debounce... de-bounces the key.

I'm probably 70/30 gamer/typer so that really affects my gameplay in shooters. I have to put it really low for it to make a noticeable difference in the double keystrokes and by that point I can't even backspace effectively. I feel really frustrated right now. >.<

I also don't feel comfortable soldering new switches on the board.

huh, so it IS debounce? maybe it was lost in the great GH crash? >_>

Have you taken the case apart? could be a faulty USB cable.. Not sure how the Noppoo is built but in some cases its a plug that attaches into the keyboard; there's a few vendors here that sell cables... Overall though if its too much hassle I'm sure someone would pick it up for parts/try to fix it.

I guess but I haven't had it long and bought it here on GH used. Seller said he had no issue with it and I'm wondering if I was lied to about it. My niece claims she's getting double keystrokes on d and e now. I'd really hate to take a hit to my wallet for this.

If this board was purchased from Reaper, he may be able to shed some light on the situation. Another thing you could do is type without the backspace key enabled either via AHK or via removing the cap and test in a word pad to see if you are indeed getting double keystrokes.

I sold the board to DrakeMegrim. My inspiration for selling was not any particular issue with the board—outstanding issues such as a slight warp to the case were documented.

I did not notice D or E double keystrokes at any point during its use, which was a period of a month. If there is something you would like me to help concerning the board I am willing to help.

I don't really know what to do. This happened with the board from day one and has been persistent ever since. It's a nice board otherwise but it completely ruins any typing that I do. I've had to revert back to a board I had in storage for the time being. Not really sure what you want to do to help jabar.
