Hi -

I know from reading posts that some of us carry around our tenkeyless to work/home etc. What do you carry yours in and do you have any suggestions? Generally, I've just tried to have enough keyboards to cover all the places I want to use a keyboard, but I've recently downsized and really just want my Filco to be with me all the time.

So - how you get yours around?

I only take it with me to LAN parties.

Simply use the original Filco packaging and cover to take it with me. I find it too large and heavy to take with me all the time. I just have another keyboard at work. If I had to take a keyboard with me more frequently I would just opt for a light 60%.

I am carrying my qfr back and forth to work until i get my gh60. I carry it in my cs:go bag witha sweatshirt wrapped around it

I found a 15" laptop sleeve with a zipper at Walmart that fits my Poker with just a little extra room to spare. Not sure what you could use for a TKL board though.

I remember seeing a post about someone carrying around their keyboard in a case for poker chips. That seemed to work well for him.

I used to carry my Filco in my backpack in the original packaging.

I normally just throw my Quickfire onto the car seat and move everything away from it. It's normally only going 15 miles with me to work or a LAN party over paved roads.

But, if I had to pack it up for a long trip, I have a few Unicomp boxes with bubble wrap in them from clients that ordered some 122-key Model M goodness. It's not like those "terminal" keyboards will ever be sent back...

That was reaper. I got one of the same ones and keep my AE RF in it.

My TKL's fit in my 15" MacBook bag sweet as - but that'd depend on what sorta bag you're rockin

Only really need to carry it with me when I'm travelling though not between work/home

I would post mine, but it would reveal my location pretty precisely.

I have to use it for school anyways instead of a nice big bag with legitimate straps, so I might as well. The bag's a bit small, but it just barely fits a Leopold.

Make sure it's not depressing any keys when it's on there. That's not too good for Topre switches over an extended period of time.

It's not. I make custom kydex for tools, knives... this just suited my needs. =)

Wrapped the HHKB in layers of foil for heat shielding... then used the heat gun to wrap the edges while keeping the top flat.

Then just finished the edges, etc.

Depends what you are doing with it, when I would take mine to and from uni I just used my shoulder bag because I would keep with with me the whole time and I know that it wouldn't get thrown around and damaged.

I sometimes like to toss my messenger bag around. I would prefer it not easily be able to be damaged. Also, I've been considering how to move a keyboard during airplane travel, and wish to cut down the footprint of it as much as possible, which is why I like the kydex option.

I carry my tenkeyless in the carrying case offered by EK.

I put the plastic cover on it and throw it in the bag. The bag also has tons of pockets for other small items as well!

If you have the orginal box, I would put it inside and then in your bag.

Or get the carry case for a less economical solution.

I really appreciate the replies on this. Phagocystus, could you do a review of the EK bag? How well is it padded etc?

I'll probably get one of those next paycheck - I am typing on my TKL Filco with blank PTBs right now, and I wish that I was ALWAYS typing with this machine.

On a secondary note - it would be pretty boss to take a Pelican case and cut the foam. I might do that at a later date.

I put my Pure in a Timbuk2 classic small messenger bag. If there's other stuff in there with it, I just wrap it up in a shirt.

I have one of the EK Leopold bags, although it mostly carries a 60%. It is very well-padded, high-quality materials and zippers, and several small pockets. It is perfectly sized for a TKL, but NOT for anything bigger. Also, there is room for other small/thin things, but it is not suited for a 60% and a 3.5" hard drive for example. It is half of an inch too short (8") to fit an unfolded piece of paper. I have not tried, but I doubt it would fit an SSK.

I like mine, and it is very often the only thing I carry home at night.

Also, looking carefully, I do not see "Leopold" anywhere except a little white tag that could easily be removed.

Recommended.
