As for Cherry switches I'm split between MX Red and MX Brown.  Actually I'd probably prefer a switch that's half way between MX Red and MX Black.

I've wanted a switch like that for a while too.  I prefer Blacks to Reds, but Blacks are just a hair too heavy and Reds are way too light.

So what you want is a vintage black switch with 62g springs.  Have that on my KMAC2, it's nice.

Cherry MX browns
Regular OEM PBT keycaps
Costar Stabilizers

Case would be based on aesthetic preference. Some of those Korean boards that people keep posting look amazing, but I do not know what the quality is like.

Yep. I've come to prefer the AEK over the Model M.

I swear by the Model M, but the salmon ALPS in the AEKI still have a special place in my heart.

I love the look and build of the Model M, but the high actuation force has turned me off to using it on a regular basis.

For the rest of my life? It'd better be rock solid and easy to fix. That means no Topre.

From the keyboards that I have now, it would be the Topre 55gram... but I don't really have that many right now so its hard to tell.

That's a very strong point. Based on those factors I might have to go with the ErgoDox

I'm still going with IBM Model M with custom keycaps to add color and replace the useless PrtSc/ScrLock/Pause with Mute/VolDn/VolUp.

However, I may end up wanting a GH75 with Green Switches for most; tactile Gray for spacebar, and Browns for selected mods I hit lightly with my pinkie.  And outboard of that a matching numpad (no arrows), probably Browns with a Green enter key and the plus split into a plus and an equals.  USB pass-through on one device, and Cherry-profile PBT keycaps on all keys.

Do I need to specify the Fn layer of the GH75, or is the above to a "T" enough?

This Model M.

Which color of these from unicomp would match the model m? Pebble or gray?

Standard Model M colors are "pearl" and "pebble" in Unicomp lingo.

Those look like pearl, but they would need to be side-by-side to really know.
Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”
