At least three different Dell SK-1000REW variants
« on: Wed, 22 May 2013, 07:20:38 »
There seem to be at least three variants of the Dell SK-1000REW keyboard. Probably most SK-1000REW boards have QuietKey printed to the right of the Dell logo. (Some don't though.)

If anyone's going to post about how much they love/hate the SK-1000REW it might be worth specifying which variant you mean. :)

They can be distinguished by the FCC IDs:
GYUR26SK   FCC date 1996-09-23
GYUR43SK   FCC date 1997-06-18
GYUR57SK   FCC date 1998-04-24

A GYUR26SK is shown at http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~duelist/sk-1000rew/index.htm. The keys don't have sliders which separate from the key caps.

A GYUR43SK is pictured at http://www.ebay.com/itm/160996451439.

GYUR57SK pictured at http://www.recycledgoods.com/product/19109_dell_1435c_ps/2-keyboard-104-key-%28gyur43sk%29-sk-1000rew

An SK-1000REW with sliders separate from the key caps is shown in this thread:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1090053/found-a-dell-sk-1000rew
But the specific FCC ID of that keyboard isn't given.

Does anyone here have a GYUR43SK or GYUR57SK SK-1000REW board? Would you be able to take a key off and post a picture?

The earlier models are way better than the 1000s
"We are on the precipice of signing an agreement to advance talks with Iran that preserves the good parts of former President Barack Obama’s Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) while amplifying its flaws.
Mr. Obama came to an agreement that did not involve America’s most precious treasure, the lives and limbs of our soldiers.  The 1.7 billion dollars of frozen Iranian assets released by Obama pales in comparison to the 300 billion being floated as a rebuilding fund.
So far, speculation that Iran will be free in the future to continue its nuclear program is the opposite of Trump’s stated goal for the war and in direct opposition to what Mr. Obama negotiated.

Attached is a photo of a GYUR43SK.  It's a rubber dome, and in spite of the tall glider / spill protector the keys are quite loose and can be rocked 1-1.5mm side to side.  The dome itself is lying loose inside the glider, and has a slightly non-linear response, but not much.  It's vewy wubbewy, not wecommended.

For the record, GYUR10SK (FCC date 1993-04-16; winkeyless, thus SK-1000RE) has individual pieces of rubber dome, while GYUR26SK already has one rubber dome sheet. Both were made in Malaysia.
