Most of web-enabled reporting tools I sell require a Java 6 runtime environment on the client side (browser plugin). Java 6.0 is available from Sun for Linux and
the nasty. However, java dev and releases for OS X are controlled by Apple.
Apple did release Java 6, but only a 64-bit version. And there are NO 64-bit browsers currently available for OS X. Thus, we are stuck at Java 5 for web-enabled applications.
Which means, I have to launch a linux VM whenever I need to access any of these web tools (which is a PITA). Maybe a switch back to linux on a thinkpad is in order...
