CM Quickfire Rapid has no backlight modes.  Also not the same quality (PCB, construction).  There are non-LED Ducky models which are around $100 and are thus close to what CM sells Rapids and Stealth  for on their own store site.  There's also a more budget friendly Ducky Zero line for under $100, and the TKL version of that is coming out soon.

Backlit keyboards are more expensive, if you don't like that, get a CM QFR.

Then get the CM QFR. Or get the Trigger if you want red backlight.

Prices are what they are for the backlighting. It's a lot more solder work and an extra daughterboard to manage LED control & save settings. I think there's enough posts to explain this to you.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Ducky are one of the extremely well respected brands. Their general build quality and feel is widely considered to be one of the very best in Cherry MX Switches along with Filco.

If you're going to take one of the more mainstream brands like Corsair, have a look around on here and ask for opinions first, as some of them suffer from bad build quality. I can't speak for Corsair, but I know my Razer keyboard which I got because it's a brand most people know of, was pretty poor, and broke in a short amount of time.

I expect Corsair will be better though, they don't often cut corners on any of their products.

cm storm trigger with your choice of switch seems to be what people recommend to noobs

The trigger is a nice keyboard.
I have no idea why you would post this.
It is targeted at the gamer community because of the software.
Based on what he posted

5 dedicated macro keys
6KRO
backlit w/3 brightness levels
fully programmable (assign/reassign macros or single functions to any keys)

here is a youtube video with a brief overview of the software if the OP is interested

This thread is just full of that sort of thing...  Which is unfortunate.

His bias towards buckling springs (Model-M's) does not help this thread or the OP.
