I really wish that the middle was/is aluminum, but it's most likely just black plastic.  :(

I do prefer the Poker style look of the Nordic Ducky Mini, but I could tell when I saw the first teaser pic of this new one that it would look completely different.

So I was kinda prepared for it to not look the same.

Not a fan of that case at all, had really high hopes for this board. The pcb has to be huge as well since the USB looks to be an inch over the numrow :( no smaller custom case swapping

Quality-wise, some plastics can be just as good as metal (it just comes down to what the designer/manufacturer specs), and from a design point of view I think that the sandwich of aluminium and plastic makes for a more streamline appearance than if it had been just a block of metal. That being said, I'm not too fond of this case shape for a 60% keyboard.

Damn, I was really hoping for a Poker 2 like Ducky Mini. I want a 60% keyboard because it's more compact than my 75% but with these bezels it doesn't make that much of a difference. I'd like to have an ANSI-version of the Ducky Mini that was released in the Nordic region.

Yeah like the different colour trails was a step in the right direction but the increased size makes the whole point of a 60% moot.

Hmmmm looks like they made it so you can pick your own FN key from bottom row:

https://www.facebook.com/117547488320354/photos/a.117548801653556.22498.117547488320354/654860364589061/?type=1&theater

Also you can have 3 different styles of Esc / `~ key:

https://www.facebook.com/117547488320354/photos/a.117548801653556.22498.117547488320354/654847434590354/?type=1&theater

That's actually a pretty huge deal and I like how they have the Leopold FC660C style too, like shift + Esc = ~

:D

EDIT:

They also have switchable function for capslock to FN or Ctrl:

Providing the extra keycaps with the board is an excellent move!

Although finding suitable after-market keycaps will be a challenge.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yeah it's quite an odd approach at an already amazing design.. :/ oh well I already have the perfect ducky mini that isn't oversized. But was hoping for a backup board maybe with that carrying case.

Looks like Ducky has joined the 60% club with backlit :) Should be interesting to see what kind of back light customization it'll have (like Zero, Shine II, or Shine III???). Pricing should be interesting too.

That Ducky logo is definitely better than their other ones tho, or at least much cuter :)

Its a mini 60% grown duck.

I'm a bigger fan of Ergo, but man, for a "throw in my purse and use with my tablet" keyboard, that is sexy.  Price will determine whether or not I actually get it.

Man... I've been waiting for this thing for a long time, and every video makes me want one more! I don't know how I feel about the case design but the features of this thing is absolutely amazing... Now for the price... If it's priced like the Shine series, which I think it will be, I'm in. Haven't bought a keyboard in awhile. It will be like my 4th or 5th Ducky purchase though :P

It will be like my 4th or 5th Ducku purchase though :P

Same here on wanting one. I really hope they do the red/green one too. The blue/red isn't really my combo.

I personally want the purple and red combo, which is thr blue and red, but the green and red is awesome too! Ugh want one nao! Just not sure where I stand with the case design and usb placement.

Oh wait a second, it's not RGB LEDs? I thought it was weird the video said "two tone" LEDs...

Hmmm not sure now. I think it's two tone and uses the two for different shades of colors between the two.

Yes, they talk about "bicolor LEDs" in one of the videos (this one or the other about the Shine 4). So, no real RGB, but blends between red-blue and red-green.

Oh man that photo is very nice :)

Thanks for posting the Video! I really love the LED functions. I would love the one, when you type it lights up that key. Pretty rad! I do not like the small spacebar on the ISO though. Also I do not like the left side USB. The case Forsure looks better when displayed like that with others. Very clean, big like a KMAC but low profile. But at this time I still don't think I'd enjoy it with the case being so wide both directions. But man those functions of the PCB are cool!
