new member interested in non-chorded keyboards
« on: Sat, 08 June 2013, 19:20:05 »
I've used a TypeMatrix 2020 keyboard for several years.  Love it.  In the short term I'm going to figure out how to use Emacs in a non-chorded way (instead of doing, for example, Control and x keys at the same time, do some non-chorded character followed by another non-chorded character).  Longer term I may be interested in building my own keyboard that has a good fit and finish, has more thumb keys, and can produce any ASCII character in a non-chorded way.  I like using the Emacs text editor, LaTeX typesetting system software, and the Perl programming language on the Fedora Linux operating system (all are free).

Keyboards: TypeMatrix 2020s at home and at work---no smart phones, no laptops because a TypeMatrix 2020 won't fit on it
