I got a new northgate omnikey 101p and was able to use it for a while until out of a sudden it stopped working. Tried re-connecting and rebooting my comp but to no avail, except when I typed the wrong letters came up. Anyone has the same problem or knows how to fix it?

Northgates are famous for giving new owners problems. I had this same deal happen and I hit the reset button under the logo plate and that fixed the problem. If this doesn't work for you, call the guy at Northgate Repair, he helped me.

When I opened up the logo plate I couldn't see anything except the PCB which said: Omnikey.

I had the same problem with my Evolution. To fix it (hopefully), turn off you PC (not just a restart). Turn on your PC, and as soon as you do, press the Esc key and hold it until you make it past the POST screen (after the beep). You can let it go when you OS of choice begins loading. This worked for me, and, hopefully, it will work for you.

In case anybody was wondering, I have not pulled the chip (which causes the problem). Since my last incident, I have not another issue. It's not that big of a deal, anyway.

Just wondering though, where is the restart button? I also can't find the DIP Switches that it was supposed to have. Beneath the logo plate seems to be empty.

You may not have one. My Evolution does not have either the reset button or DIP switches.

In some of the 1010Ps, people had that removed. Call or email the Northgate dude.

Why would anybody want it removed?

Because (I have heard) the programming functionality messes with modern computers in some way. I have the 101 with IBM layout, a model which isn't programable.

I don't know. Hell, I most likely wouldn't know what's going on ever if I was there with the keyboard in my hands.
