Am I becomming a keyboard addict?
« on: Fri, 21 June 2013, 07:02:12 »
For all my life, i was a "10Euro Keyboard will do the job" person, absolutely despising the thought of paying 100 euro for a keyboard.

My curiosity finally got the best of me last year.

It's worth noting that i live in Slovakia (central europe).

Fast forward to today and i now have:

WASD V1 (browns and light grey caps) - 120$ + ~50$ shipping (ARGH)
QFR (blacks) - about 100 E (yeah overpriced store, damn EU)
Noppoo choc mini (reds) - about 90 E
Filco MJT2 beige (reds) - from keyboardco.com about 180 E incl. shipping

proxied a QFR stealth from the US through Greystroke (big thanks) on the way - about 90 E

yeah i fell in love with MX reds :)

am i becoming addicted?

also, hi :)

No.

If you have made a diligent search and rationally determined that the Cherry MX red switch is your favorite, you have finished.

Buy 1-3 really nice Cherry red boards and be done with your quest.

The addict is the person who feels the compulsion to buy and own a wide range of keyboards, for their own sake.

My question: What is the difference between an addict and an collector?
"It's 110, but it doesn't feel it to me, right. If anybody goes down. Everybody was so worried yesterday about you and they never mentioned me. I'm up here sweating like a dog. They don’t think about me. This is hard work.
Do you feel the breeze? I don't want anybody going on me. We need every voter. I don't care about you. I just want your vote. I don't care."

ugh don't worry bud, I have around $1000+ in IBM's or more and now I just ordered the TRIX Korean board...... So I think so far between boards and caps $1700+ in boards..... But those IBM's in 6-7 years will reach higher prices.

If you get and like the ErgoDox, then it is likely that your addiction will go away. I don't foresee myself buying standard keyboards again, even though I was already planning on at least two purchases (Poker v2 and WASD v2) prior to buying the kit.

I used to play SC2 on a Microsoft Ergo 4000. You can play video games on anything. Just need it to be comfortable for you.

I love the ErgoDox for SC2. Fully programmable with multiple layers and thumb keys make it a gamer board too.

I'm addicting, and I only have one keyboard! Waiting on my second, but this is addicting. So much information, keycaps, switches, etc.

It's the customization and the different types that get you addicted. It's not even about getting one good quality board for everyday use. It has become get a board for every possibility out there!
