Er, FC660C is a Topre keyboard - only Topre keycaps will fit.

Or are you asking for a photo of the keyboard?  Look in the reviews section :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Guess that was an incorrect way to phrase the question.  I have the keyboard...  Interested in buying some Realforce keycaps for it.  This is what I want to see.

Aha!  That makes it a bit clearer.

Don't think I've seen many/any custom keycaps on a FC660C, apart from the occasional Clack.

You'd need more than one set to pull off a full swap -- the left right shift of the fc660c is shorter than that of the 87U, and the bottom row has _six_ 1.25x keys, whereas the menu/winkeys on the 87U are 1x.

I was interested in trying this, but I'm really not interested in paying EK over $200 for keycaps (they've already gotten plenty of my money ;)).

I may at some point try just swapping out the alphas (the profiles match fine, so that's not at all an issue), but there are no in-stock colors at EK that have me excited enough to buy them right now.

(EDIT: fixed some typos)

EDIT2: Upon further thought and analysis, it looks like you'd be able to do this with an 87U keycap set plus an additional modifier set -- the left and right shifts seem to be the same size.  That is much more tempting...

I also may try some alphas, but, like you, will wait until EK restocks colors.

Oh man... This is exactly what I want, RF keycaps on the 660C :-). Though I really do need an alternative source to these since I find EK to be very expensive for me when you add shipping and customs to the UK.

They're more expensive on Taobao, and you would have to pay Agent fees, but perhaps he will be able to get them directly from Leopold.  You would save on shipping and perhaps VAT.

Yes. I think on leopold they work out slightly cheaper at approx 95$:

Yeah, I'd love to do this too... perhaps when EK as more colors in stock.  Though, I really hope that Leo eventually has keycaps FOR the FC660C instead.  That way you still have the Fn layer legends and such, not that that's a huge deal.

Is there less demand for custom Topre keycap sets?  Like for the established HHKB and the new FC660C?

Places like WASD and SP and GMK and BSP only seem to do Cherry MX.

It is a supply and demand situation. If moaaar topre boards surface at moaaar reasonable prices we can all expect some moaaar topre keycap goodness.

Now for FC660C is out and hugely popular (at least around here) maybe someone will start taking notice.

Hopefully the keycaps will be compatible with HHKB.  Or I might just have to get myself a FC660C too.  In white.  Eventually.

Make much difference in the feel of the keys?
