Poker case & custom key caps
« on: Wed, 03 July 2013, 06:52:57 »
I was wondering where I could get a poker case, for my GH60, is there a place where I could order one of those cases alone?

Also, I want to get the CCnG keycaps but blank. I'm not sure if there is a place where I can order key caps in the colours I like?

Some sellers such as Tinlong sometimes get a few to be sold on here or DT but it doesn't happen too often and they go quite quickly. The last time he sold some they were for $30 each so you may consider just getting a second hand Poker and stealing the case, these come up now and again for between $80-$100 and then you also have a working keyboard with it :p Or get one of the aluminium cases that there are GB's for at the moment, but prepare your wallet for a thrashing because they can get expensive

Yeah I've been thinking about getting a GB alu case, but they dont always come in the colours I like or they are just very expensive.
In my best case scenario I want to get a case in the colour of CCnG's green with blank key caps in the same colours, except the F5-F8 in white.

Now my problem is finding those, if they are even available.

are there sites where you can buy custom caps in the colours you want?

It depends on what kind of quality you are looking for, keep your eyes peeled on the Group By and Marketplace and something might pop up. You may also get lucky and find something you like in some of the stores, such as https://www.originativeco.com/, http://www.qwerkeys.co.uk/ or http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/. If you need something truly custom then you could use http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/ but I can't vouch for the quality of their keycaps. Some of the vendors on the forum also have lots to offer :D

On the CCnG front I'm not sure that there are blank sets (someone correct me if I'm wrong?)

Good Luck ;)

Well, I don't need the "official" CCnG blank key caps, since I'd think there aren't any. I just like the colours. I'll check out those sites though, thanks for the help

1) I was wondering where I could get a poker case, for my GH60, is there a place where I could order one of those cases alone?

2) Also, I want to get the CCnG keycaps but blank. I'm not sure if there is a place where I can order key caps in the colours I like?

1) There's at least 2 group buys running right now from imsto and feng in the GB section. You can also look at the GH60 thread for cases.

2) There's no blank CCnG sets right now as far as I know.

Yeah I checked those GB's for the cases, the cases currently in production aren't totally my thing and I'd guess more GB's for cases that'll fit the GH60 will come as the GH60 gets closer to release, so that's not a problem right now, sadly I was a few weeks too late to get the green poker case imsto has in his GB and afaik nobody actually bought a green one so not counting on one becoming available in classifieds.

And about the keycaps, I'm gonna risk buying customs from wasdkeyboards, I can even let everybody know about the quality after I get them.

Would recommend getting a sampler kit from wasd before ordering. I did this and did not find them to my liking.

They're very low quality and cheap feeling in my opinion. You're better off with SP caps.

The capt. sums it up pretty well. Even stock abs caps on "cheap" mechanicals feel tons better.
