Though this is a Lexmark, it is one of the most bad ass Model Ms I've ever seen.

I got it for $20.50 shipped and I think the GOVT thing is pimp. It was a total impulse buy, but I think it'll be fun to display on top of my keyboard shelf.

Now all you need is a black suit and some Ray Ban's.

yeah, I am old school, I guess. I still like Ray Bans though, I even have a pair. The Persols you mention don't ring a bell, but I googled them. Persols look like Ray Bans to me.

For the uninformed Persols came out in 1917 while Ray-Bans came in the market at 1937, however as of 1999 Luxottica bought Ray-Ban hence the similar styling, how ever majority of the styles that you see have been inspired from Persol. Give or take the most memorable appearence for Persol's (at least in my opinion), is in the original Thomas Crowne Affair with Steve McQueen, then later with the James Bond films, followed shortly, by Miami Vice. Now if memory serves me correctly Ray Baan's recieved sudden popularity in the movies Resovoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Top Gun.

If you would go to a sunglass store sometime (I'd reccomend Optical Store of Aspen if you live in LA, and don't specifically know what brand you are looking for) you would notice that Personls, and Ray-bans have minute differences except Persols cost exponentially more, due to the fact that not all Ray-Bans are made in italy (and that is becoming ever so evident as Ray-Bans are becoming more and more popular today). While the subtle styling of the Persols and the oh so comfortable flexible thingy ma bob make it a winner in my book.

Yeah...

Xsphat, knowing that you use a Mac:  how well do the Ms play with Macs?  They're missing a crucial modifier key.

Home/Work:  Custom Filco FKBN87Z/EB and SGI 041-0136-001 chimera (original white ALPS, not simplified, rubber-dampened)
Gaming:  Wolfking Warrior with custom-colored layout, HHKB Lite 2 (Rubber dome)

The IBM 101 key layout is my favorite on Mac. I lose the caps lock function in place of the control and make Alt command and Ctrl is option. It works flawlessly, and that is how I run my Model Ms, Realforce 86 and any other 101 key layout keyboards.

Here's what I have to change. I never use caps lock so it's a non-issue to me.

Golly, has it been that long since I've been here? Been busy running in circles, screaming, and shouting.

I used to have a pair of those Ray Bans, the American made ones, with the carbon coating (they called it diamond coating) that the sales folk liked to demonstrate by dragging the jagged edge of their keys across the lens. I had started wearing contacts and figgered I could save the difference by buying cheap sunglasses instead of prescription ones. So I wound up buying about the most expensive non-designer sunglasses available, but I loved them. They got picked up by some unknown person (stolen), I hope they are enjoying them. Well, no matter, I do not wear contacts anymore anyway.

By the way, I think I saw those movies.

I am thinking Pulp Fiction. Its been awhile since I saw it. I need to rent it again. If I remember correctly, its black suits, white shirts, and cool sun glasses. I think it had guns too, but I just remember the sun glasses, mostly. Almost makes me want to be a thug. Just kidding, but I don' think it turned out so well for Marvin.
