There are two variants. One variant is known to be "Mitsumi hybrid switch" which feels and works like a rubber dome (but is not exactly like it). The switch is the same as in most stand-alone Amiga keyboards.
I think that the other variant is slider over rubber dome, but I am not entirely sure.

There is more info on the Deskthority Wiki about the first variant.

I'm searching for salmon/pink alps

That will be the Apple Extended Keyboard MO115 or one of the earlier, smaller, Apple Keyboards such as MO110 or MO116.

Also not Apple Extended Keyboard II which is dampened cream Alps.

I don't know. You're probably right. I am not really an Apple kind of guy.

I have a really nice AEK2 that my daughter uses, and have bought several AEKs in recent years which have always had dead switches. I am going to harvest "most" of the oranges from the 2 AEKs I have in the basement and transplant them into an AT101 body - one of these days.

Are those less desirable for some reason? I was to the understanding that they were basically the same, feeling wise.

They're just slightly different in force. Some prefer orange, some prefer salmons. Doesn't mean one is more desirable than the other at all.
