A logo is a symbol, and I think that we all can all agree that symbols, because they are pre-lingual are also pre-cognitive. They are an attempt to communicate some value at a pre-conscious level.

I wouldn't judge a whole line of products by a brand, at most, I'd just be cautious when dealing with brands with a less-than-solid rep.

Quite right, quite right: I admit that I did actually commit the logical fallacy of composition in that reply. I blame the lapse of reason on the nausea caused by the mere thought of that disgusting logo.

You can laugh at Razer's marketing approach, and in hindsight, so can I, but I wouldn't be here on this forum with you, or working with Weyman up at WASD to put out my custom designs if it weren't for that fateful day in Best Buy, when I saw the Razer Mamba (which has always treated me poorly, but still has a place in my heart) and the following month when I went back for my first mechanical keyboard, the Black Widow Ultimate, with Cherry Blues.

Sure, I've had to fight to make use of my Mamba's warranty twice, and my BWU shat the bed only six months after purchase. But I still can't thank Razer enough for introducing me to a better world.

That is true. Never thought of it like that. I only got into keyboards because I was newb looking at Razer and Corsair products. I than read complaints about Corsair not having different switches and was like, "Huh?" and that sparked my curiosity and addiction to the mechanical keyboard world. Well, I should be thanking Corsair now that I am thinking about it.

I don't see how its being an Elitist to not like the worst keyboard on the market. (Literally, 5 dollar rubber domes have lasted me longer than the Blackwidow.)

Some guy who has no expertise in the field that you happen to have an uncommon interest in (most of us know more than literally 99.99999% of the world population about keyboards) approaches you and tries to relate to what you're looking at, and then you go home and shoot him down on the internet because he's not a fanatic? That's being an elitist prick.

This is such a small, but awesome, community.. and elitism really isn't called for.

People seem more interested in enlightening, and bringing more people into this amazing world, than guarding the knowledge and shutting people out.

Seriously...I was about to deck this kid in the face talking about how he knows more about Fullmetal Alchemist than I do, and I was twice the size of him. I just responded with a nice, "I could eat your face, throw it up, and serve it to your mommy...but you smell so I won't reduce my dignity by chewing you up."

There really isn't that many people that go around saying, "MY BOARD IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOURS! DON'T EVEN USE A COMPUTER ANYMORE!"

This is honestly the nicest bunch of geeks on this forum compared to gaming or fandom boards.

I kinda wish that Apple made a mechanical keyboard.

It would probably be the same quality as the BWU, and cost $500.

But we would get about 40 million more people joining the mech keyboard folk!

Well, I certainly wouldn't say it would be bad quality, it would probably be of great quality, as most Apple products are! That being said, I'm sort of glad that mechanical keyboards are still a niche market, because it adds a sense of exclusivity to owning one..... or many
